ABOUT US St. Anne’s-Belfield School is a nurturing and challenging age 2 through Grade 12 co-ed academic community in Charlottesville, Virginia. Since 1910, we have sought to foster students’ natural curiosity and love of learning so that they may become, in the words of our founding headmistress Mary Hyde DuVal, “strong in body, broad of mind, tender of heart, responsive in soul.” We believe that small classes, expert and caring faculty, and an environment built on mutual respect is essential to preparing students to become exemplary citizens and visionary leaders.

COVID-19 RESPONSE 2019 – 2021: We pivoted to a virtual platform in March 2020 and in 2020-21, domestic and international students had the option to attend in-person or virtually. 2021-22: While all students learned inperson, opportunities for extracurricular activities were severely curtailed.

LOURIE LEARNING CENTER In the Lourie Learning Center (LLC) there is a makerspace where students design Wearable Arts Runway Show outfits, take CS classes, or 3D print; a recording studio for music and audio engineering; a food lab for immersive world languages lessons and fellowship among boarding students on the weekends; and high-tech, flexible spaces for collaborative learning, arts performance, and in-person or virtual speakers.
