St. Anastasia CATHOLIC SCHOOL 2026 ANNUAL REPORT Dear St. Anastasia School Family and Friends, This has been a year of tremendous blessings for St. Anastasia Catholic School. We are grateful to God for His continued guidance and for the many parents, parishioners, alumni, volunteers, and benefactors whose generosity of time, talent, and treasure strengthens our school community each day. As we reflect on the year, we proudly recognize St. Anastasia Catholic School as the primary ministry of our parish—a ministry through which we live out our mission of forming young people in faith, knowledge, character, and service. This shared commitment to Catholic education is at the heart of who we are as a parish and school community. This Annual Report reflects the impact of your support and serves as a statement of accountability for the resources entrusted to us. Together, we have celebrated many accomplishments, including continued academic excellence, growth in faith formation, expanded student opportunities in the arts, athletics, and leadership, and important investments in campus improvements, safety, and technology. These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our students, faculty, staff, and supporters. As we look to the future, we are excited to continue moving forward with our Master Plan, a bold vision that will strengthen our mission for generations to come. With plans for a new preschool, enhanced student facilities, expanded athletic spaces, and improved community gathering areas, we are investing in the future of Catholic education at St. Anastasia while honoring the legacy that has shaped our school for more than 70 years. We invite you to review this report and celebrate all that God has accomplished through our school community. Thank you for your continued prayers, support, and commitment to the mission of St. Anastasia Catholic School. With gratitude and blessings,
Mrs. Angelica Krestin Mrs. Angelica Krestin Principal, St. Anastasia Catholic School

Academic Decathlon: Excellence in Competition In March, St. Anastasia middle-school students showcased their academic talent and Panther pride at the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Academic Decathlon, competing against 13 other teams from schools throughout the Our Lady of Angels Region. Our students delivered an exceptional performance, earning 1st and 2nd place in the Team Logic competition — a remarkable accomplishment that highlighted their critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. Individual students also earned top honors, placing 2nd in Religion, 3rd in Science, and 3rd in English.
These achievements reflect the dedication, preparation, and hard work of our students, as well as the commitment of the teachers and coaches who support them. A special thank-you goes to Ms. Nguyen for her guidance, encouragement, and dedication to our Academic Decathlon teams. Her leadership helped our students prepare with confidence and compete at their very best. We are incredibly proud of our Panthers for representing St. Anastasia with excellence, perseverance, and Panther pride!

Physics Meets Thrills at Knott’s Berry Farm! St. Anastasia students once again put their STEM skills to the test at the annual Knott’s Berry Farm STEAM Day, competing against more than 65 entries from schools across Southern California, including schools from as far south as Mexicali! Our students designed and submitted five original roller coasters, combining creativity, engineering, physics, and teamwork. We are thrilled to celebrate one of our teams for earning 1st Place for “Most Exciting to Ride” with their Stranger Things-inspired coaster! St. Anastasia has proudly placed among the top competitors every year we have participated, and our winning streak continues! This incredible experience was made possible through the generosity of SoCalGas and its annual STEM grant. We are deeply grateful for their continued investment in our local schools and for helping provide our students with hands-on opportunities to learn, create, and innovate. Their support makes experiences like this possible—and inspires the next generation of STEM thinkers! We also thank the Playa Venice Sunrise Rotary Club’s mini grants for assisting in costs for the supplies used in the competition.

Sports Jamboree One of the many ways we continue to strengthen community across all grade levels is through opportunities for older students to mentor and encourage our younger Panthers. At the end of the school year, our (then) 8th grade students welcomed their 2nd grade buddies for a special introduction to the team sports offered through our Athletic Department. As the students explored basketball, volleyball, flag football, futsal, and track, they not only learned the basics of each sport, but also experienced the encouragement, leadership, and school spirit modeled by our middle school students. Through activities like these, meaningful connections are formed between students of different ages, helping foster a sense of belonging and unity throughout our school community. We are excited to watch these young Panthers continue to grow both on and off the field and court, carrying forward the pride, teamwork, and community spirit that define our Panther family.
Performing Arts Program Where Every Student Takes Center Stage For more than 25 years, St. Anastasia Catholic School has been filled with music, laughter, creativity, and unforgettable performances. Each year, our Performing Arts Program gives students in grades 5–8 the opportunity to discover talents they never knew they had— whether they're delivering a show-stopping performance on stage or bringing the production to life behind the scenes. This year's spring production of Something Rotten! Jr. was one of the largest and most exciting student activities on campus. More than 80 students participated as actors, singers, dancers, stage crew members, technicians, and production assistants. After months of rehearsals, choreography, set construction, costume design, and countless hours of preparation, our students delivered an outstanding performance that showcased their remarkable talent, creativity, and commitment. One of the great achievements of this year's production was that 100% of our 8th-grade class participated—either on stage or behind the scenes. Every student found a meaningful role in the production, demonstrating that success comes from working together as one team. While the audience loved every scene, the crowd-favorite "dancing omelets" stole the show, bringing laughter, energy, and plenty of smiles to each performance. From the spotlight to the sound booth, every student contributed to something truly special. More than just a school musical, Something Rotten! Jr. united our school community, strengthened friendships across grade levels, and gave students the opportunity to grow in confidence while experiencing the joy of creating something extraordinary together.
101 Dalmatians, Kids.
Inaugural Musical for the Younger Panthers!
This year also marked a new era for our Performing Arts Program with the inaugural 1st–4th Grade Musical, 101 Dalmatians, Kids. For the first time, our younger Panthers had the opportunity to experience the excitement of putting on a full musical production. The response was overwhelming, with more than 60 students participating across two casts of over 30 students each, allowing even more children to take part and shine on stage. From adorable puppies to memorable villains, our young performers brought energy, enthusiasm, and plenty of smiles to every rehearsal and performance. For many students, this was their first experience performing in front of an audience, and they rose to the occasion with confidence and joy. The production not only showcased their talents but also helped build friendships, teamwork, and self-confidence. 101 Dalmatians Jr. was a wonderful success and an exciting addition to our arts program, creating lasting memories for students and families alike while inspiring the next generation of St. Anastasia performers.
PTO & Fundraising Impact We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the St. Anastasia PTO for their outstanding fundraising efforts and for consistently exceeding their goals year after year. Their generosity and dedication make a meaningful difference in the life of our school. Through the PTO’s support, we are able to strengthen school operations, invest in important capital improvement projects, and provide fun and memorable activities throughout the year for our students, faculty, and parents. Most importantly, the PTO helps create a strong sense of community and connection among our Panther families. We are incredibly grateful for their tireless dedication, generosity, and commitment to making St. Anastasia an exceptional place for our students and families to learn, grow, and thrive.

Annual Giving to St. Anastasia School Tuition provides for the essential cost of educating our students, but tuition alone does not cover all of the programs, activities, and opportunities that make the St. Anastasia experience exceptional. Annual Giving helps bridge that gap and provides additional resources to support the programs our students value and enjoy. Our annual giving goal is 100% participation (with a suggested amount of $500 per family), and your gift can support the area that matters most to you, including the Panther Fund, Musical, Athletics, or an unrestricted gift that allows the school to direct funds toward its greatest need. We ask every Panther Family to participate, regardless of the size of the gift. Every contribution, large or small, is deeply appreciated and demonstrates our shared commitment to the tradition of excellence at St. Anastasia. When every family gives, we strengthen the programs and opportunities that enrich our students' education and help make St. Anastasia a truly exceptional community.

Panther Fund Endowment
Current Endowment: $606,317* Goal: $1,000,000 The Panther Fund Endowment continues to grow, creating a lasting legacy that will benefit St. Anastasia Catholic School for generations to come. Over the past year, the endowment has grown from $165,435 to more than $600,000—a remarkable milestone that reflects our community's extraordinary generosity and commitment to the future of Catholic education. This incredible growth has been made possible through moving reserve funds into the Investment Pool, generous gifts made directly to the endowment, along with significant contributions from the St. Anastasia Men's Club and Women's Club. Together, these investments are bringing us closer to our first major milestone goal: a $1MM endowment fund. Unlike annual fundraising, endowment gifts are invested to provide permanent, long-term support for the school. As the fund continues to grow, the earnings will help strengthen St. Anastasia by supporting capital improvements, providing tuition assistance to families, addressing emerging needs, and ensuring the school has the financial resources to thrive for years to come. Every gift to the Panther Fund Endowment is an investment in the future of our students, our mission, and the continued excellence of St. Anastasia Catholic School. *As of close of FY’26 We warmly invite all friends of St. Anastasia to contribute to the Panther Fund, helping to secure a lasting legacy of excellence.

Tuition covers approximately 70% of the total cost of operating our school. To bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the true cost of educating each student, we rely on the success of our fundraising efforts, including generous donations, PTO fundraising, and support of the Panther Fund. These efforts are essential to providing the programs, resources, and opportunities that make a St. Anastasia education so special. We also saw a significant increase in participation in corporate matching programs, providing an incredible opportunity for our donors to double their impact through employer-matched gifts. We are grateful to the families and companies who maximize their generosity in this way and help strengthen the future of St. Anastasia.
Master Plan Updates PRESCHOOL PLAN UPDATES
As we continue with our Master Planning process, we are excited to announce our partnership with Shea Family Charities to begin construction in early 2027 (currently in city planning for permitting), with a goal to open in early 2028! The new building will feature a dedicated early-learning center for children ages 2.5-4 years old including: - 2 classrooms - Dedicated outdoor play spaces - Secure entry/exits - Dedicated staff office space - Dedicated restrooms for both staff and children Funding for this project has been secured in thanks to Shea Family Charities!
A NEW PANTHER PLAY SPACE We’re excited to bring a brand-new, expanded playground to St. Anastasia! As our school continues to grow, we saw an opportunity to create a larger, more welcoming play space designed for children ages 2–12 to learn, play, explore, and build friendships. After years of wear and tear, tree roots had caused significant damage to the existing play area, creating uneven surfaces and tripping hazards. With safety and the needs of our students in mind, we made the decision to reimagine the entire space moving it to a larger space to allow for an expanded play area. Funding for this exciting project will be provided through proceeds from our Joga-Thon, making this a wonderful example of our community coming together to invest in our students. We look forward to having the new playspace installed by the end of 2026, creating a safe, engaging environment where our youngest Panthers through our middle school students can play, explore, and make memories for years to come!
LOOKING AHEAD: PHASE 2 OF THE MASTER PLAN As we move closer to construction of our new preschool, we are turning our sights toward Phase 2 of the St. Anastasia Master Plan. This exciting next chapter will include the Parish Life Center (a brand-new multipurpose auditorium/gymnasium), a new athletic field, expanded parking, and important safety and traffic improvements across the campus. Phase 2 represents a significant financial undertaking, but these projects have been identified as top priorities by our parish and school community. They will provide valuable spaces for our students, families, parishioners, and programs while enhancing the overall experience and safety of our campus. We look forward to sharing more details about this exciting next phase and the vision for the future of St. Anastasia in the months ahead!

The Men's Club grew to 94 members, bringing together parishioners through fellowship and fun with events including Happy Hours, the annual Thanksgiving Cornhole Tournament, and a March Madness Watch Party. The newly reimagined Our Village Women's Club enjoyed a successful relaunch, welcoming 65 members during its first year. Through activities such as Happy Hours, pumpkin carving, and Paint & Sip evenings, the club has created a thriving community where women can build lasting friendships and deepen their connection to the parish. The combined membership dues and club donations from the Men's Club and Our Village Women's Club generated more than $12,000 in support of the Panther Fund, helping strengthen the school's long-term financial sustainability while demonstrating their shared commitment to the future of St. Anastasia Catholic School.
