A much-loved addition to our Junior School campus is the Garden of Mary our Good Mother. The Garden celebrates Mary as an excellent role model for our students and their families.

Our young people and their families are invited to stop and spend a little time in contemplation or prayer, with Rosary beads, prayer cards and other prayer aids available to assist.

Our Prayer of Mary

Loving God, we thank you for the gift of Mary our Good Mother. We are grateful for her gentle protection and her tender care of our Marist family. She plays a special role in our lives as we grow to be young people of strong mind and gentle heart. Amen. Mary our Good Mother. Pray for us. Beside the statue are the purple flowers representing the three violets: humility, simplicity and modesty.

To be truly humble is to be grounded, to be earthed. It is on earth that the seeds spring, grow and blossom and bear fruit.

Simplicity is about what is important in life. It means to be content with what we have and to enjoy life as it is, in all God’s creation. It is being honest, fair and having integrity.

To be truly modest is to rejoice in God’s gifts to us, living in hope, and secure in God’s love and care. A modest person seeks to do good, quietly.
