Frank Hoenemeyer ’37 turned 100 years old on November 1, 2019. Happy Birthday! Major Ed Burke ’38 After the Battle of the Bulge, a hero emerged. He’s now 99. Major Ed Burke ’39 was featured in the news in recognition of his efforts in the Allied Campaign in Germany and Normandy during WWII. He earned the Silver Star for Gallantry in Action.

Sons Wayne Grimme ’63 and Glen Grimme ’67 accompanied their dad, Paul Grimme ’42, as he made his first sky dive jump in honor of his late wife. The day of the jump would have been their 75th wedding anniversary. 60’s

Jay Moriarty ’64 has written a book about his experiences in Hollywood movin’ on up with the classic sitcom The Jeffersons, first as a writer, then as Executive Producer. The book introduces us to some of the leading minds in television comedy, including Norman Lear, the first TV producer to successfully combine humor with biting social satire. This groundbreaking TV series dared to take on such issues as interracial marriage, suicide, transgender and even the KKK. The book is titled HONKY IN THE HOUSE –Writing & Producing The Jeffersons and is available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Michael Harbison ’66 was inducted into the Ohio High School Athletic Association Officials Hall of Fame, and he just completed his 49th season of officiating high school football. This year he also coached the Indian Hill boys golf team to the state final and finish in the top 10. Stephen D. Wolnitzek ’66 has stepped down as Chair of the Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission after 24-plus years of service. He was first appointed in July,1995 by the Kentucky Bar Association Board of Governors to fill an opening and then for a 4-year term beginning January 1996 and was reappointed every four years thereafter. John Barrett ’67 celebrated 30 years as President of the Western Southern Financial Group in November. W. Michael Nelson III ’67 retired from Xavier University after 41 years. With his 4 years at St. X and 4 years at XU as a student, Nelson has spent 49 years with the Jesuits! For 47 of those years, Nelson has been married to his wife, Sarah.

Dennis Corbett ’71 recently shared Bomber tales in Washington, DC with Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown and his daughter Elizabeth, a Member of the Columbus City Council. Congratulations to Michael Geraci ’77 on his MBA from Xavier University

Mark Kitrick ’73 became the President of the Ohio State Bar Foundation in January 2020. This is the largest legal non-profit foundation in the nation. Mark will also be President of Ohio’s American Board of Trial Advocates, the mission being to preserve the right to a civil jury trial.

90’s

Matt Betley ’90 was honored by the Cincinnati Reds at GABP as their Soldier of the Game in September. Commander Matt Luff ’97 is anticipating “going to sea for the first time as captain,” he reported by email. A USS Tennessee change of command ceremony took place in the chapel onboard Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia on August 29, said a U.S. Navy news release.

Kyle T. Seifried ’98 was recently elected partner at the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York, New York. Kyle focuses on mergers & acquisitions, securities law and related matters. He lives with his wife and two children in Brooklyn, New York.

Rob Schrimpf ’02 has joined the law firm of Roetzel & Andress as an associate after nine years in the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

Kyle Bedinghaus ’10 was named the Fifth Third 2018 President’s Circle Award Winner and 2018 Assistant Manager of the Year in Greater Cincinnati.

Matt Cooney ’11 recently became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Ohio. He currently works for fellow alum, Robert E. Carroll ’76, at his accounting firm in Blue Ash.

Captain Mack Ohlinger ’11, (also a West Point graduate) was awarded the Bronze Star & the Combat Infantryman’s Badge while currently serving his second Afghanistan tour and he has also been accepted into Oxford’s Said Business School in England because he has “a working knowledge of the English language that he honed at St. X from Ms. Cindy Fazio (Mock Trial Legend/Coach), Coach Specht and almost the entire Nardini Family. Thank you Cindy, Coach Specht and all the Nardinis!!!” Go Bombers – all the way … we’re always behind you.

Rob Ries ’13 placed 7th in 20-30 age group in the Lake Placid Half Ironman.

Congratulations to Alex Deters ’16 and Delan Stallworth ’17 who were both named All-Ivy First Team for their success with the Princeton University Tigers.

Nate Gleckler ’18 was chosen to be 1 out of 50 ROTC Cadets nationwide to attend the Air Force Academy Freefall Jump School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Nate successfully completed his unassisted freefall jumps and earned his United States Air Force Jump Wings. In the group photo, Nate is 2nd on the right.

Patrick Rotsching ’19 is still rooting for the Bombers as a member of the Band of the Fighting Irish at the University of Notre Dame.

Gorman The Gorman family welcomed our third girl on September 9th. Hailey Kathryn Gorman was born in Cincinnati, OH to parents Tim ’01 and Kathryn Gorman. Olivia (4) and Emma (2), are very excited and love to help with their baby sister. Go Bombers!

Schrimpf Rob Schrimpf ’02 and wife Ragen welcomed their second child Olivia Claire on October 15, 2019.

McDonald Henry McDonald ’06 married Natalie McDonald (formerly Natalie Hansman) on June 15, 2019 at Christ the King. Father Rick Millbourn (teacher/Jesuit at St. X) performed the ceremony. Henry has been teaching at St. X since 2012 and coaching football at St. X since 2011. Natalie also works in Catholic education in marketing/communication at Bishop Fenwick High School.
