SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY STUDIES HOW DO SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INTERACT WITH SOCIETY? Science and Technology Studies (STS) examines how science, technology, and society interact and influence one another. Using a critical approach, STS draws on the perspectives of History, Philosophy, Political Science, and Sociology.

After graduation STS is an integral part of a liberal arts education. It explores the complex ways science and technology are interwoven in contemporary society. STS graduates are prepared to be educators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and citizens in today’s global and interconnected world. Some graduates have gone on to careers in law, medicine, science journalism, and archival research. Others have entered graduate programs in public health policy, the history of medicine, or STS.
