A Community Of Connections

Dear St. Martin's Family,

The SMES PTO works hard to build a strong St. Martin’s community – one that students, families, teachers, faculty, and staff are excited and proud to be part of; one where every member of our community feels welcomed, valued, and included. PTO events like Fall Festival, Cookies & Carols, the Daughters’ Dance, the Sons’ Event, and the 8th grade graduation reception help cultivate the connections that define our close-knit community. PTO programs (e.g., Warrior Buddies, Warrior Wings, and the Room Representative Program), initiatives (e.g., the Teacher Fund), and committees (e.g., Hospitality, Orientation, and Teacher Appreciation) help create the climate of support that makes St. Martin’s feel like home.

The PTO thrives because of the culture of giving – of time, talent, support, and resources – at St. Martins. In fact, the PTO’s success depends entirely on the incredible generosity of the St. Martin’s community. None of our events or programs would be possible without it. So, we want to say thank you.

• Thank you to the more than 300 people – parents, teachers, and students included – who so graciously served as a PTO volunteer. Thank you for finding time in your busy schedules to share your energy and expertise with us this year. We quite literally could not have done it without you.

• Thank you to everyone who participated in one of the PTO’s community rebate programs, donated or bought used uniforms, shopped at the book fair, registered for Warrior Run, or purchased items from the school store. Your support helped provide the revenue necessary to fund PTO programs and events for next year.

• Thank you to the 321 families who donated to the inaugural Teacher Fund this year. Your overwhelming generosity provided Christmas and End-of-Year gifts for each and every teacher at SMES. It also ensured that each SMES employee received a special treat every day of SMES Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week.

We owe a world of gratitude to every PTO volunteer, sponsor, ticket-buyer, donor, contributor, and event-attendee. Thank you for making this year the PTO’s smoothest year yet. And, more importantly, thank you for continuing the tradition of generous support that makes St. Martin’s a place where our children and every member of our community can – and do – thrive.
