Inside your worship guide this morning, you’ll find a Giving Guide outlining specific ways in which you can contribute to specific projects or initiatives underway at St. Luke’s. Choose a project that you feel led to support and make a tax deductible donation in 2013. Be sure and indicate the name of the project you’d like to support on your check.
Live Nativity
Today • 5PM and 6:30PM • Sanctuary Experience the story of Christmas like never before. Even the animals are live in this production that brings to life the birth of Jesus. Consider attending the later service if possible to make room for families with small children who tend to prefer the earlier service. Crafts, photo ops, cookies and more will be available in the Narthex before and after each performance.
Jr. High Winter Retreat
Friday, December 20 at 7PM through Saturday, December 21 at 8AM Jr. High students join us for a night full of fun and adventure! We will meet at the Lodge for games and pizza. Then we’ll head to SkyZone for a private jump session. Back at the Lodge, there will be games, activities, movies and much more throughout the night. Register at www.stlukesumc.com by December 18. Longest Night
Saturday, December 21 • 7PM • Luke’s Lodge The Longest Night is a service of hope. Oftentimes the holidays are difficult for those who have experienced a loss, are struggling with grief or feeling depressed. This uplifting service will remind you of the hope inherent in the season and offer reasons to celebrate.
Donald Miller is coming to St. Luke’s
Saturday, January 25 • 7-8PM • Sanctuary This is your invitation to live a more meaningful life! Begin 2014 off right with Donald Miller, the New York Times Bestselling author of Blue Like Jazz, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years and Storyline. Miller’s approach blurs the lines between the Christian and secular communities with his use of humor, compelling stories and authenticity. This is an event that will attract a diverse crowd and is a ticketed event. St. Luke’s members have the first chance to purchase tickets either online at stlukesumc.com/Donald or in person this morning in the West Passage. Single tickets are $15/each with a patron’s option for $50/each which includes dinner, an interview and preferred seating.

Tuesday, December 24 • 6-9PM • Parlor Join host, Greg Hazel, to enjoy Christmas music, holiday goodies, and fellowship with other single friends. Plan to attend one of the Christmas Eve services at 5,7,9, or 11PM.

The building will be closed Wednesday, December 25, Saturday, December 28 and Wednesday, January 1. The building will be open 8:30AM-5PM on December 26, 27 and 30 and will close at 8PM on December 31.

Poinsettia Orders
To order poinsettias for the Sanctuary in memory or honor of a loved one, stop by the Welcome Center or the church office to fill out an order card and make a $10 donation, or order at www.stlukesumc.com. Plants may be picked up following the 11PM Christmas Eve service. Orders received before Tuesday, December 17, will have names included in the Poinsettia Remembrance list, which will be available either on our website to download and easily share with others, or at the Welcome Center for those who wish to have a printed copy.

Angel Tree
Thank you for the tremendous generosity displayed through this year’s Angel Tree Project. Thanks to St. Luke’s, 436 individuals have been adopted and will receive Christmas blessings. We would still appreciate monetary donations for Kroger Gift Certificates. You can make a financial donation this morning or online.
