The Building And Grounds Committee

The Building and Grounds Committee meets monthly to support the Board of Directors and the Head of School in long-term planning and development of the St. Catherine’s facilities, infrastructure, and 10.4 acre grounds. The committee is comprised of the Head of School, the Facilities Manager, a board member, guides, and parent volunteers. The scope of the committee’s activities includes planning, developing, executing, reviewing, integrating, maintaining, supporting, and organizing a wide variety of facilities and grounds matters.

The committee’s most recent and ongoing focus has been the selection and implementation of software to facilitate and track maintenance and preventative maintenance issues. Additionally, the committee investigated a variety of options for relocation of the after-care program. A collaborative effort with Texas A&M Agri-Life Extension Program has given St. Catherine’s the opportunity to work on finding environmentally sound solutions to controlling ants on the 10.4 campus with a two year study being conducted by A&M and the school’s facilities management.
