BOULDER, CO This project included the replacement of an existing steam boiler with a 6,600 PPH steam boiler and associated feed water system. The existing 17-year-old boiler was one of three boilers of varying sizes and ages contained in the boiler plant. SSR spent the time to properly survey the existing steam, condensate, and feedwater systems accompanying these boilers in a very congested and confusing boiler plant. SSR developed accurate as-built layouts for the system configurations and related system schematics for use both in the design of the replacement project as well as documentation for the owner’s end use.

SSR designed the low voltage infrastructure to support a fully integrated and redundant medical grade network capable of supporting a full range of medical and commercial communications services.

The SSR team coordinated with lighting, theatrical, and acoustical designers to provide power for the various theatrical systems that were put into place. Special sound rated transformers were used and all equipment was placed in the basement. Through the efforts of SSR, the Cornerstone Arts Building achieved LEED Gold®.
