SINGAPORE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
We’re the Singapore Symphony Orchestra – you can call us the SSO! An orchestra is made up of many musicians playing different instruments like violins, cellos, flutes, trumpets, horns and percussion - all together. Did you know that the word “symphony” means “sounding together”? That’s what the SSO does, playing music by great composers such as Mozart and Beethoven. We usually play in a concert hall, like the beautiful Victoria Concert Hall, our home. Our big concerts are held at the Esplanade Concert Hall which can seat 1,800 people. We want to show everyone how enjoyable classical music is, so sometimes we have concerts near your home, or at the Botanic Gardens - you can enjoy fresh air and nature while listening to beautiful music!

Hello kids!
My name is Nathanaël Iselin and I’m the Associate Conductor of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. In this role I get to conduct the SSO several times a year, including the one you're about to experience! I come from France but you’ll find me very often conducting orchestras in the Nordic countries, such as Finland and Iceland, as well as in Europe. The music of Debussy, Ravel, Sibelius, Prokofiev and Stravinsky are close to my heart. I hope today's musical performance will find a place in yours too!

Hi I’m Phil and I’m so happy to be back in Singapore to perform Little Red Riding Hood for you! I was also here previously in Symphonic Sorcery: The Music of Harry Potter with your wonderful Singapore Symphony Orchestra too. Besides Singapore, I have entertained kids in theatre programmes in Malaysia, Australia and in cities like Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria, Winnipeg and Regina in my homeland, Canada, which is 13,000km away from Singapore! Hi kids, I’m Braden and I love being a storyteller and narrator in shows such as Little Red Riding Hood and Peter and the Wolf. I’ve performed in cities in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Canada and the USA, and today’s performance will be the fourth time I’m here on stage with your SSO! My puppets can also be seen in The Jim Henson Company’s Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock (AppleTV+). Watch out for the big bad wolf today I’m relying on you, brave little heroes, to protect your mommy or daddy! Hi everyone, I’m Camille and I'm the author of many plays and stories for children and adults. My work has won many awards and appeared in many publications and I recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing. Besides writing, I’m also an actor. Come with me to visit my grandma today and help me defeat the big bad wolf!
