Sharon Perkulis June 29-July 3 July 13-17 10:00-11:00 a.m. $100/week Children will learn the basics of the spoken Spanish language and will explore different areas of the Mexican culture such as arts and crafts, food and traditions. Kindergarten through Grade 3 Limited to 10 students

QUIZ WHIZ

Mrs. Williamson (Mrs. W.) June 29-July 3 10:00-11:00 a.m. $100 Compete in mini tournaments during the week culminating in a Championship Quiz on Friday! Topics and study time will be provided before and during sessions. Grades 4-5 Limited to 16 students

SCULPTURE AT HOME

Joy Chertow June 29-July 3: Tin Man and Other Creatures July 13-17: Wire People and Animals July 27-31: Plaster of Paris Animals August 3-7: Plaster of Paris Animals 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. $100/week Students will create sculptures with a variety of easily obtainable materials. Students must have access to, and be comfortable using, a hot glue gun. Just SOME of what’s needed will be cardboard or plywood for a base, duct tape, Plaster of Paris cloth, bucket and water. It will be somewhat messy... AND FUN! A materials list and places to purchase will be provided. Materials provided by parents. Grades 5-8 Limited to 12 students

HANGIN’ OUT WITH HOMER & WILL

Mrs. Rigley June 29-July 3 10:00-11:00 a.m. $100 We’ll ride the high seas and “case out” haunted castles through graphic novels based on the epic poem of Homer and the “epic” drama of Shakespeare. There will be monsters, hags and gods galore, “the best and worst of human nature,” and options of drawing scenes or writing poems based on these award-winning, Gareth Hinds’ graphic works. Grades 7 and 8 Limited to 10 students

HEBREW AT HOME

Ilanit Israeli-Nagar July 6-10 9:30-10:00 a.m.: PreK 10:05-10:35 a.m.: Kindergarten 11:00-11:30: Grade 1 $75 Learn the Hebrew language through fun, engaging activities. We will be singing, telling stories, playing games, making art and more! 4-7 years old Limited to 25 students

PLAYFUL POETRY

Mrs. Williamson (Mrs. W.) July 6-10 10:00-11:00 a.m.: Grades 1-3 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: Grades 4-8 $100 Explore multiple poets and styles throughout the week and complete the class with a small portfolio of your very own poetry! Grades 1-8 Limited to 10 students


HARRY POTTER BOOK AND ACTIVITY CLUB

Maya Pariser July 6-10 10:00-11:00 a.m. $100 Read or reread Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on your own, then take a part in a book club and activities based on what we have read. Activities will range from STEM to literacy to arts and crafts. Grades 3-5 Limited to 12 students

FRACTURED FAIRY TALES

Gail Kelly July 6-10 1:00-2:00 p.m. $100 Join us as we venture into “once upon a time” with mixed-up fairy tales – starring young actors as classic characters in a new way. We’ll work on acting, character, storytelling and more as we bring these zany stories to life via Zoom! Grades 3-4 Limited to 12 students

STORYBOOK CRAFT AND CONVERSATION

Jill Grasfield July 13-August 10, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00-9:30 a.m. $150/all 5 weeks Have your preschooler join us as we read some of our favorite stories followed by sensational crafts and conversation. PreK and Kindergarten Limited to 8 students

Mrs. Kateman July 6-10 10:00-11:00 a.m. $100 Let’s play carnival games with dice and coins and see how likely it is to win mathematically! All mathematical thinkers are welcome!

Mrs. Williamson (Mrs. W.) July 13-17 10:00-11:00 a.m. $100 Students will explore multiple genres and authors during the first 3 sessions, then will choose one genre in which to write, edit and “publish” their very own short story.

ANIMALS IN WAR: PAST AND PRESENT

Mrs. O’Donnell July 13-17 10:00-11:00 a.m. $100 Learn how horses, dogs, elephants, dolphins and other animals have been used in war throughout much of history and today. Grades 5-8 Limited to 10 students


MAKE A PAPIER MACHÉ PUPPET: 4-DAY ART WORKSHOP

Susan Fusco-Fazio July 20-24 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. $80 Artists will make a puppet of a person, animal, creature or superhero with a movable head that can be used to put on a puppet show! We will take the process step by step over 4 classes. If we are ready, we can end with an improv puppet show together on Zoom! Day 1 - Design & Create Head and Armature Day 2 - Add Papier Maché Day 3 - Paint Puppet Head Day 4 - Make Puppet Body MATERIALS NEEDED

• 8” wooden dowel • 2”- 3” styrofoam ball • masking tape • aluminum foil • recycled materials (thin cardboard, egg carton, toilet paper tubes, etc.) • Elmer’s glue • newspaper or brown paper bag, printer paper • pencil, Sharpie marker, acrylic paints, palette, brushes • water, jars, paper towels • fabric or felt • scissors • fabric glue or hot glue gun with parent assistance or needle and thread • optional: yarn, pipe cleaners, google eyes, buttons, sequins, lace, feathers, etc. Please note: all items can be obtained at Michael’s Arts & Crafts. Grades 1-4; Kindergarten students with assistance from an adult or older sibling Limited to 12 students

Rabbi Rebecca Weinstein July 20-24 10:00-11:00 a.m. $100 “Do you love arts and crafts?!?! Do you love glitter and rainbows?! Me too! And my favorite way to create is through inspiration in the Torah! Together we will think about ideas in our Torah and bring them to life through fantastic creations! I can’t wait to see you all and to laugh, learn and have a wonderful time!” Grades 5-8 Limited to 15 students

Rachel Kornreich July 27-July 31 10:00-10:30 a.m. $75 We will read different stories throughout the week. Students will be sent projects related to the story that they can work on at home and then share during our group time. How about reading Pete the Cat Goes Camping, making s’mores out of art supplies and a tent at home? Join us! 4-5 years old Limited to 10 students


EN PLEIN AIR: PAINTING OUTDOORS

Susan Fusco-Fazio August 3-6 10:00-11:00 a.m. $80 Create your masterpiece en plein air which is French for painting outside in nature! Paint with Susan in your yard or paint Susan’s garden via Zoom video as she teaches you how to create and complete an acrylic painting on canvas over 4 days from start to finish. This class will help artists advance their skills and become patient with the process of painting.

CAMP CRAFTS@HOME

Rachel Kornreich August 3-7 10:00-11:00 a.m. $100 In this class we will be learning how to create your own camp crafts at home! Tie-dye, friendship bracelets and all the best of summer camp comes right to you! Grades 2-3 Limited to 10 students

Day 1 - Apply a ground/underpainting, make sketches and plan your composition while learning proportion and perspective. Day 2 - Learn how to make many different shades of green and the nuances of the colors of flowers in sunlight and shade. Apply large areas of paint. Day 3 - Edit and make changes to your paintings. Add details and highlights to finalize your masterpiece. Day 4 - Class art exhibit via Zoom slideshow and critique on Zoom. MATERIALS NEEDED

• 1 canvas (16x20 or bigger) • easel or table • acrylic paints (red, blue, green, yellow, black, white, purple and magenta) • palette or paper plates • paint brushes (small, medium and large) • paper towels • two jars of water • piece of white cover stock paper and scissors to make an artist’s viewfinder Grades 1-3 Limited to 12 students
