Fairway Faring Golf Course Updates

These are a few of the projects that we’ve been working on this spring in order to make sure the course is ready for you to play all summer

In order to improve playability and appearance, we’ve reworked the sand bunkers around the golf course This involved reshaping the edges, cleaning the drainage and adding new sand Also, we changed the mowing patterns around the green surrounds and lowered the cutting height to give it a more professional look.

Our guys worked very hard to make this happen for you all, as well as many other projects this spring. The rain has been plentiful, so we’re looking forward to another great year on the course.

Don’t forget the club will be closed on May 27th for greens aerification, and as always, please do your part and help with ball marks, divots, and driving carts in a respectful manner as you come out to play this season

Focus on Fitness Fitness Updates

What does “fit” mean to you? Overall wellness, weight loss, muscle gain, improved fitness and energy levels, living life free of pain? Whatever your definition, what are you doing for it?

For this edition, I’m sharing 7 tips for finding success on your fitness journey this summer:

1

2

3

Make a plan and stick with it Find a friend who will help you be accountable and support you.

Start gradually; aim for small changes over time.

Prioritize exercise If you’ve got 10 minutes, at a comfortable pace, that’s an easy 1,000 steps Cardiovascular exercise is a great way to burn calories and get your blood really moving. Strength training is beneficial to building muscle (obviously) but will boost your metabolism

4

5

6

Fuel your body with nutritious, in-season foods Focusing on whole, unprocessed foods, such as fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains. Remember, the healthiest options are found on the outside aisles at the grocery store. Plan ahead by preparing healthy snacks to avoid making poor choices that will derail your progress

Stay hydrated in the summer heat! Liquid calories will dehydrate and deplete you

Continue to rest and recover Aiming for 7-9 hours of quality sleep is when the true magic of repair takes place All the things we do throughout the day is wear and tear on our bodies, so when you’re sleeping, your body is rebuilding! Taking 1-2 days of “active rest” is beneficial, too! Simply going through the activities of daily living (ADL’s) can be relaxing if we change our perspective

7

Be patient and celebrate small victories. Appreciate the journey that you take. And remember that consistency is key! The results will not happen overnight

Find me for more tips and pointers, or let’s schedule a time to have a consultation to have an in-depth discussion about your wellness journey, which includes a movement assessment that will show us your flexibility, mobility, and what limitations you have

Golf season is in full swing! Imagine stopping by the Pro Shop to grab your key and a cart, then pulling off just across from the first tee box to stock your cooler and grab a fresh, delicious bite before hitting the coursequick, convenient, andcraftedwithgolfersinmind

Big things are happening at the Club,

and we’re excited to introduce a fresh new concept designed with our gol members in mind Birdies is taking flight as the go-to spot for quick, delicious bites before hitting the course. Whether you’re grabbing a breakfast sandwich before your early tee time, fueling up for a round with the crew, or spending a rainy day enjoying a drink in the simulators, Birdies is here to elevate your golfing experience.

We’ve reimagined this space to bring you convenience, new and exciting offerings, and a refreshed experience with your membership

TheStoryBehindtheName

Reframing the way we use the space was really one of the first “group projects” we undertook as a staff with Mark, SSCC GM Our first assignment was to come up with an idea for a new name that felt right for the concept. We put our heads together and, ultimately, Alissa Morton, our Accounts Manager, came up with the idea of Birdies -

“Everythingwassogood, especially that Smash Burger! This place is goingtobegreat!”
-StevenWood,Member
“Everything I tried was amazing. That Cup of Texas was more like a CupofLove!”
-SuzyRost,Member

A birdie is every golfer’s goal- a score that feels like a win, and we wanted our members to feel that with a quick, easy, and satisfying stop before your round. We wanted something that reflected both the sport we love and the fresh start we’re bringing to the space Birdies is a place where convenience meets quality, giving you the perfect start (or finish) to your day on the greens.

TransforminganIcon

The idea for Birdies came from member feedback about how you use your Club. That’s right, this all came from you! We heard you loud and clear- golfers wanted a more convenient way to grab a bite and restock their coolers without having to go in and sit at the bar or wait for a full sit-down meal We updated the most convenient location, including revamping the menu, to create a more efficient, high-quality experience that caters specifically to those heading to the course or hanging out in the simulators

From updated branding, to memberexclusive merchandise, to new food and beverage options, every detail has been designed to enhance the way you use your membership. Our Food & Beverage team has worked hard to create a menu that’s both delicious and portable, while our Operations team has streamlined service and created options to ensure you get what you need quickly and effortlessly.

What’sontheMenu?

At Birdies, we’re redefining quick service with a menu that’s both flavorful and built for golfers on the go. We’ve shared the new menu with food and drink options, as well as operating hours, on the following page, but you can expect to find a variety of graband-go favorites like the “Breakfast Ball” Burrito, Chip Shotdogs, and the classic SSCC Club Sandwich.

Beyond great food, Birdies will also feature an easy, streamlined ordering process so you can grab your items and g

StopBy&ExperienceBirdies!

We can’t wait for you to experience Birdies firsthand If you haven’t already, stop by before your next round We’re confident Birdies will become your favorite pre-round pit stop.

Keep an eye out special launch events and tastings coming soon, and be sure to swing by to see what’s new Here’s to great golf, great food, and even better memoriessee you at Birdies!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Preview of the new Birdies menu on April 12 We had The Masters on the big screens in the simulators and lots of bites to try! Birdies has been well-received so far by our Members, and we hope you’ll stop by and give it a try, too! th

Did You Know?

The term “birdie” in golf is believed to have originated in the early 1900s at the Atlantic City Country Club in New Jersey, when a golfer named Ab Smith hit a “bird of a shot,” resulting in a score one under par, and the term stuck At this time, the term “bird” was used as slang to describe something particularly good or excellent, so apparently, Ab influenced so hard he changed the dictionary of a sport!
