PRESIDENT’S PERSPECTIVE
The 2019-20 school year is off to a great start! We are excited about our new year and grateful for the year highlighted in this annual report. As we close the chapter on the 2018-19 school year, we want to share with our Ursuline community the impact you had on our girls’ education. We are extremely grateful for the celebrations of the last year and that includes the volunteers, board members, donors, and sponsors listed in our annual report. On behalf of the girls and young women who walk our halls, thank you! The academic impact of an Ursuline education was celebrated with two National Merit Finalists, and one commended National Hispanic Scholar Semi-Finalist. The Class of 2019 received $11,484,200 in scholarships as they now, throughout the United States and beyond, begin their college careers. The Reggio Emilia-inspired Early Childhood Learning Center, Blue Dog inspired works of art, writing music compositions, coding robots, forensic investigations, and problem solving to help others is the project-based education our girls experience. Allowing each student to delve deeper, be creative, flex their brain, and have the courage to see and solve problems. Tie the rich academic setting to the call of Serviam and our students have the experiences to serve as compassionate leaders for life. We are grateful for the service of those listed as members of boards, Parents’ Club, and the various volunteers who made an impact through their gift of service. La Fête, Spaghetti Fest, and student activities such as Mane Event and Mother-Daughter Luncheon could not occur without all of you. Thank you to those who supported Ursuline through sponsorship of events and athletics. The impact of our Ursuline community is great when we all join together and act as one to continue the mission of the Academy. Please thank all those listed in our annual report who supported the academy. Gifts to the Serviam Annual Fund (SAF) provide direct support to Ursuline students in the current school year. The generous investment of donors listed here has assisted with programs like Project Lead The Way - a nationally recognized STEM program, as well as a stellar arts program. The gifts made in 2018-19 helped make the Academy campus more secure, maintain the historic preservations of our magnificent State Street campus, and gave Ursuline girls the chance to participate in athletic programs free of charge. The entire Ursuline community, especially our girls, is appreciative and grateful to all of our Serviam Annual Fund supporters.
