The Rowfant Club welcomed us to Cleveland for the 17th FABS Book Tour and Symposium. This was the second visit by the Fellowship of American Bibliophilic Societies to Cleveland and the Rowfant Club. The first, in 2001, saw the city in transition from its industrial past to a post-industrial future. The transition continues as medical services, biotechnology, and information technology replace factories and machine shops. This tour took us to a number of the same venues as in 2001. Some, like the Cleveland Museum of Art, have changed greatly. Others are new, including Oberlin College and the Morgan Conservatory. The theme of the tour was “Books in their various capacities to please the mind.”
