First Nations grandmothers call for an end to racist child removals Grandmothers Against Removal have sent a strong message to Australia’s politicians to end their long legacy of removing First Nations children from their families. Around 400 people met today in Sydney’s CBD to support the call to action to stop the breaking up of families and their culture on the 22nd anniversary
of Sorry Day. Since invasion in 1788, Australia has boasted a long history of child removals — a record that was thoroughly interrogated by all speakers.
