WHEREAS, Bob Khalsa distinguished himself among his fellow members as a capable and effective leader by virtue of his performance as President in 2024, and
WHEREAS, the Association expanded the Finance Committee to SPF thus ensuring a continuing review of the financial and membership program/ planning on regular basis throughout each year; and
WHEREAS, the Association reviewed and created the 2025-2027 strategic plan, and implemented an interactive AMS for the association and members to enhance communication, information and data; and
WHEREAS, the Association selected a new CEO following a robust vetting process; and
WHEREAS, through Bob’s guidance and leadership, scores of members served on various committees, task forces and work groups to fulfill the mission and objectives of the Association to support members’ ability to successfully pursue the real estate profession with fairness, competency, and high ethical standards; and
WHEREAS, through Bob’s guidance and collaboration with legal, state and national resources ensured members were protected and well versed during the shift in industry standards; and
WHEREAS, in continuing to fulfil SRAR’s role engaging in the legislative process, the Association successfully held their annual Federal, State and Local housing and legislative forums that connected members and their elected officials; and
WHEREAS, the Association reached 30% participation in REALTOR Action Fund, surpassing the state goal of 21%; and
WHEREAS, Bob Khalsa reached Gold VIP Level for a lifetime investment to the REALTOR Action Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Association restructured the Charitable Foundation to ensure maximum engagement and philanthropic opportunities within the community; and
WHEREAS, the Association enhanced its image in the community through the work of the SRAR Charitable Foundation, Charity Golf Classic, REALTOR® EXPO, Cultures of the Valley event, Jessie Gabriel’s Day of Service, Support of LGBTQ+ San Fernando Valley Pride March and Block Party, Assessor Prang’s Housing Resource Fair, DEI and Fair Housing events, Housing Opportunity Fair, ADU Symposium, Community Networking (Trunk or Treat), Holiday Toy Drive in collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club and Breakfast with Santa event to engage families in need in the Santa Clarita area ; and
WHEREAS, the Association engaged members and attendees through educational, networking and informational sessions encompassing Broker/ Owner/Manager bi-monthly meetings, Broker Breakfast and Town Hall, Fair Housing and Diversity, Risk Management, Commercial & Property Management Series of classes, Listing Products and Services, Contracts and Disclosures with an emphasis on the needs of small brokerages; and
WHEREAS, the Association provided a robust enhanced Leadership Academy to ensure the association fosters future leadership at SRAR, C.A.R. and NAR levels;
WHEREAS, the Association advanced their prowess through additional technology and social media classes, including Al, more virtual offerings, continued enhancement of the website, and expanded member reach through an additional Broker targeted newsletter, digital publication, and introduction of podcasts; and
WHEREAS, the Association obtained multiple National Association of REALTOR® grants including Housing Opportunity and Commercial Innovation grants and a C.A.R. grant for Fair Housing and DEI; and
WHEREAS, the Association continued to share dynamic market statistics and updates to members, media, and the public on an ongoing basis. In addition, Bob and the Association expanded our outreach using videos and other “bite-sized” content; and
WHEREAS, the Association enhanced its voice for real estate, a trusted resource and partner in an ever-changing environment, in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys by creating a template for Regionalization opportunities for the Association; and
WHEREAS, Bob represented the Association to civic organizations and allied organizations such as AREAA, CABREB, the LBGTQ+ Real Estate Alliance, Women’s Council of REALTORS•, NAHREP, NAREB, and others as well as the California Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® with distinction; and
WHEREAS, the Association Building Taskforce continues to identify and leverage non-dues revenue opportunities to benefit the members; and
WHEREAS, the Association continued to provide unparalleled services to its commercial members by holding monthly networking events, two Education Series, a Commercial Day event utilizing a NAR Commercial Innovation Grant, and Commercial Risk Management; and
WHEREAS, all was accomplished, with tremendous commitment, and dedication.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Southland Regional Association of REALTORS®, Inc. on behalf of the entire membership, on this 5th day of December 2024 does hereby salute and thank Bob Khalsa for a job well done.
