The Legendary Madison Square Garden
An entire history may be found at Madison Square Garden. Located in New York City, Madison Square Garden is a multi-use indoor arena also referred to as The Garden or by its initials MSG. In Midtown Manhattan, above Pennsylvania Station, it is situated between Seventh and Eighth Avenues from 31st to 33rd Street. It is the fourth location to hold the name "Madison Square Garden." The previous two (1879 and 1890) were situated on Madison Square, at East 26th Street and Madison Avenue, while the third Madison Square Garden (1925) was farther uptown, at Eighth Avenue and 50th Street. In addition to professional ice hockey and basketball, the Garden also hosts boxing, mixed martial arts, concerts, ice shows, circuses, pro wrestling, and other sports and entertainment events. It is close to other famous sites in midtown Manhattan, such as Koreatown, Macy's in Herald Square, and the Empire State Building. The New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League, and the New York Liberty of the Women's National Basketball Association all call it home. From 1997 until 2017, the New York Liberty also called it home. The Garden debuted on February 11, 1968, and is the oldest
