SPY’s Happy Lens™ is the foundational technology the brand offers across all its sunglass lenses, but it’s far from basic. Happy is SPY’s proprietary technology designed to not just protect eyes but also boost mood and alertness. Happy lenses are available in polarized as well as non-polarized options in a multitude of tints and mirror options.
How it works? The sun gives off both "bad" and "good" blue-rays. The "bad" rays include ultraviolet light and short-wave blue light, which cause eyestrain, fatigue, and various sunlight-related eye diseases. The "good" rays are a specific type of long-wave blue light that science has shown helps to boost both mood and alertness. Happy lenses block out the "bad" rays while letting in the "good" rays, simultaneously providing premium color contrast and enhancement.
