Remember you are always welcome to attend our Club’s General Meetings at the Red Cross Hall in Macquarie Road, Springwood on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. (There is no meeting in December).

Life Members: Dot Luker, Ann Moy, Sue Fell, Ron Amann, Wally Campbell, Pam Waters, Lesley Piggott, Lynn Olson, Leanne Brown Annual General Meeting: will be held on the last Thursday in August, 2016 at Lomatia Park. (There will be no training on that night).

Dog Behaviour Inventory This set of questions has to do with your dog’s learning, obedience and problem solving.

1.

Does your dog obey simple commands like ‘sit’and ‘down’ immediately?

2. When your dog is off leash and running free, does it return immediately when you call?

NEVER SELDOM OCCASIONALLY FREQUENTLY ALWAYS 5. Does your dog figure things out for itself (e.g. he or she may be good at escaping from places, learning how to open closets or doors, quick of understanding words like ‘walk’or ‘bath’ that you haven’t deliberately tried to teach him/her)?

After you have answered all of these questions for your dog, you next have to determine your dog’s scores. The general scoring system is that: NEVER SELDOM OCCASIONALLY FREQUENTLY ALWAYS

However, for questions 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 the scoring is REVERSED.

DOG TREAT RECIPES. Whacky Wheat Treats 2 jars baby food meat (chicken, lamb, beef, etc – you choose) ½ cup non-fat dry milk 56g. wheat germ 1/3 cup water l/2 cup flour l tsp. garlic powder Mix together well – roll out dough on floured surface – cut out witch hat patterns and place on lightly greased cookie sheet – bake in a l60 oven until golden brown about 30 – 35 minutes.

----------------------------------------Oatmeal Cookie treats 2 cups rice 2 packages Reg.Flavour oatmeal (mixed with milk) l/4 cup molasses 1 cup carrots 1/3 cup spinach 1 ¼ cup flour ½ tbsp. brown gravy mix 4 tbsp. applesauce ½ tbsp. vegetable oil Preheat oven to 350 degrees – stir ingredients, but adding flour gradually – drop on cookie sheet using tsp. – bake 15 – 20minutes or until golden brown – makes approx.. 20 cookies.
