After a massive week for the club, we are back with the second edition of 'United', the official Matchday Programme of Springfield United. Firstly, with over 400 reads, I would like to say a massive thankyou for the reception that the first issue received last week.
In this weeks edition, we preview our Australia Cup Round Three matchup against North Brisbane FC and our FQPL 3 Women's Pre-Season Match against Broadbeach United. Our Sponsor Spotlight this week is new Major Sponsor 'Club Lime Springfield', as a QLD First Partnership, this is one you don't want to miss.
We get an Academy Update from Head of Junior Development, Mick Matthews, while Max and Brent give us a Preview/Review of our Metro and Overs Program, and that is just a few of the features in this weeks issue.
Throughout the Issue, there are Sponsor Advertisements/Features, so make sure to support the Businesses that Support us. If you have any questions regarding our Sponsors, don't hesitate to reach out to myself or visit our 'Sponsors' page on our club website.

Thomas WebbThe Beauty of Cup Football, there is no time to reminisce on the previous round. After last weeks 4-3 win against Kingscliff, we welcome North Brisbane FC to 'The Summit' this Saturday at 7:00pm. I was very proud of the performance against Kingscliff, they are a quality outfit and I have no doubt that they will give the FQPL 3 Gold Coast League an almighty shake this year. The last few weeks I have drummed into the lads that regardless of performance, we have got to work hard during games to get results, and that's exactly what we did last Saturday. North Brisbane have been a quality outfit for a number of seasons now, gaining back to back promotions into the FQPL 3. As a squad, we always get excited to test ourselves against teams in higher leagues, and the lads are buzzing about the possibility of progressing into the next round of the cup. With some key first team players starting to come back into the fold after injuries, I'm really looking forward to this weekends matchup. On behalf of the whole squad, we would love to see you at 'The Summit' this weekend to watch what shapes up to be a great match.
I would first like to say well done to the SUFC team behind the program, the first edition was brilliant, keep it up. The Kappa Women's Super Cup is done and dusted for us, the ladies went into the game with plenty of confidence but the result did not favour us. We were up against a strong Caboolture team, although this proved a great opportunity to give some of our younger players a chance to experience such competitive football as we proved we have great depth this year as we utilised a number of our 23s. Having such depth in the squad is a wonderful headache for a coach to have as players will be battling for a spot in the top team and staring 11. This weekend we continue our preparations for the season with yet another tough match. We have invited Broadbeach United up to 'The Summit' for what will be a great pre-season hit out. Once again as we gain valuable experience through playing high quality opposition we will only be further prepared to achieve our goals for this up coming season. With the SUFC communities continuing support, we will compete at our very best each match we play. Let’s do this United!
from Todd Norris, Rhys Phipps x2 and a Tyson Walpole wonder strike; We welcome FQPL3 Metro side North Brisbane FC to 'The Summit', who are sure to provide another stern test for our lads as they battle for a spot in the fourth round.
Coach Declan Murphy will return from Scotland this weekend and will be sure to expect a very strong performance against a side that we have struggled against in past meetings. It was great to see such a big crowd at the club last weekend to support the lads. Lets make sure we are at ‘The Summit’ again this Saturday to show our support. U23s Kick Off - 5pm
FQPL4 Men Kick Off 7pm
North Brisbane have somewhat proven to be a bit of a powerhouse in the FQ Metro region having secured promotions to Metro’s top league in a relatively short space of time.
Broadbeach United were secured promotion to FQPL1 women’s this season after finishing 3rd in FQPL2 last season. A club that is building a respectable reputation for themselves in both the men’s and women’s division
Our Women’s side take on a very strong FQPL1 W side in Broadbeach United this weekend as they continue their pre-season for the upcoming FQPL3 Metro season. Coming off of a defiant 3-0 defeat last week in the Kappa Women’s Super Cup against a Caboolture side stacked with talent; Coach Lucas Torrisi will be wanting to fine tune and tinker with his side against superior opposition to ensure he gives his girls the best chance of a top four finish once the season begins. New Addition Danielle White will make her SUFC debut this weekend, one we are all excited to see in action. The girls are in action this Sunday at 'The Summit', with the U23's kicking off at 3:00pm and the First Team kicking off at 5:00pm..
Springfield, are you ready to amp up your fitness? At Club Lime, fitness is a lifestyle, and we know gyms better than anyone. There's no wait for our weights, and we don't compromise on quality. This brand new, effortlessly-cool fitness club is equipped with endless rows of high-tech cardio, weights and functional equipment. We won't lock you in, or out, with no-lock-in contracts and 24/7 access!
Club Lime is one of Australia's most popular health clubs helping more than 30,000 members achieve a healthier, longer and more active life. You may have noticed that our name is simply Club Lime and we do not define ourselves as "fitness" or "health club" because we consider ourselves more than just a gym or training facility, we consider ourselves a community of people, a club of friends and acquaintances, and a place where you can be yourself and get fit at the same time without worrying about what everyone else is doing around you. Most of our facilities operate 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, and that includes 24 hours support should you need it.
When creating winning teams, it's easy to focus on individual talents and skills But what about the power of community in supporting winning teams? Andy Nutton and Kristian Samuels believe great communities can significantly support a team's success.
"A strong community is the foundation of a team's achievements, and I believe it's one reason Springfield United is such a successful club – we have an unshakeable community both at the club and across Greater Springfield," Nutton said
Veteran SUFC member, Nutton has been a part of SUFC since 2008 "I've played at a few clubs, and SUFC is by far the standout – I love how friendly and supportive everyone is."
As Director and Principal at Purple Cow Real Estate in Springfield Lakes, Nutton knew it was important for his team to give back to the local community as Springfield United's Premier Partner in 2023. "We saw an opportunity to support our community and invest in the future of our local athletes," Nutton said.
Samuels, who kicks off his second season with SUFC in 2023, is a fan of the family-orientated and diverse community culture enjoyed at the club
"It's like the whole neighbourhood is out together some days, and I find focusing on the game as a team is also the best thing for releasing a busy week," Samuels said
Besides football, Nutton and Samuel's other passion is, of course, real estate You'll find them helping local property owners and investors sell and lease homes with the Purple Cow team when they're not on the pitch
"Purple Cow is a genuinely local team We're not a small 'one man band' or a corporate franchise – so we have the power and flexibility of a strong and experienced team – and we wholeheartedly care about our community, " Nutton states.
"We're also different from other agencies – our focus on quality property marketing can take a good sale price to a wow sale price," Samuels reiterated
Greater Springfield doesn't typically conform to the broader Queensland or national property trends. Our community has so much new infrastructure and amenity development that it essentially creates its own property market. While many other areas are experiencing a downturn, Greater Springfield is bucking the trend. We recommend regularly speaking with our local experts to get correct information about your property and our local market's position at any given time.
There is nothing worse than undervaluing your home. Make sure you choose a local team that knows the area and understands what Greater Springfield has to offer for buyers and tenants. Like football, it's always best to have the home team advantage. Having a knowledgeable local team will also understand the hidden value in your property, the village, and our market, which will translate to a better outcome for you
Talk to the Purple Cow team for a 'health check' on your property You'll learn valuable insights such as a price update, suburb market reports, current demand for your home, and a rental appraisal. Also, discuss simple suggestions that could add value to your home because first impressions count, and this advice can help your property stand out. Also remember to be diligent, do research, ask questions, and have a clear strategy.
We're proud to be a part of SUFC's season and look forward to continuing to support our community. If you're selling or leasing a property in 2023, ask us about Purple Cow's Member's Premium Package to increase your success in the property market.
Collect your 2023 SUFC Members Card at the same time you collect your 2023 Kit Members Cards can also be purchased at the Canteen for $10.

Dear parents & caregivers,
As the season approaches I wanted to share with parents the following article.
Please stop screaming 'SHOOT’ First of all, shooting should be a decision, not a reaction.
Secondly, instructions should only come from the coach.
Thirdly, telling your child what to do from the bleachers robs them of an opportunity to practice the most important skill in the game - decision making!
Lastly, from the time you yell it... to the time they process it (and then potentially act on it)... it is no longer a 'good shot'!

Looking back on last Saturday's match, it was very satisfying to win an Australian Cup tie against such good opposition. We all felt prior to the game, that we would be playing a strong football team who concentrates on playing good Football, in both grades I may add Players on both teams and matched each other for 90 minutes, in what turned out to be a very exciting game A particular highlight was the goal from young Tyson, who hit a 25 yard rasper and Phippsy scored another two spectacular goals, which we have been accustom to seeing from him It was very satisfying for the club, and new players playing in their first big occasion for the club (Rhys Webster, Tyson Walpole, Andrew Alderton). The rest of the boys thoroughly deserved the win in what was a very hard fought match. We now are looking forward to a similar game on Saturday in the next round of the Australia Cup, in the form of North Brisbane FC. We have played them before in the League, and they have had our number so far. I'm expecting an exciting match and one we will have to be at our best to achieve another win and progress into the next round of the cup. We welcome back our First Team Coach Declan Murphy, coming direct from Dunfermline, after seeing to some Family commitments at home Hopefully he will be satisfied with our recent form and will be trying to continue that form in what is shaping up to be a very competitive season for us in 2023
Before we go, I would like to touch on the FQPL 3 Women's team They also had a cup tie against a strong Caboolture outfit, unfortunately they went down 3-0 to a strong side. I know Lucas was pleased with the performance after speaking to him throughout the week. I would like to extend my support to them, as they are shaping up to be very promising players for the 2023 season. I wish them the best for their upcoming Pre-Season games and the start of 2023, I'm excited to see how they go in the upcoming fixtures. The upcoming World Cup will see the Larger Countries encourage the young generations to play , in the short time they have been playing the game. I'm so amazed at the development of the Female game in the last 20 years
