DECLAN MURPHY - FQPL 4 MEN

Unfortunately our 2023 Australia Cup Campaign came to an end last weekend, as we went down 3-2 to North Brisbane. We started the game with great intent, and found ourselves 2-0 up, but 3 really soft goals gave North Brisbane the match. As much as we would have liked to be sitting here in the fourth round of the cup, this gives us the chance to have two weeks of training before the season starts. Our boys are really looking forward to the challenges that present themselves in 2023, and as we draw closer to round one, I can see their efforts in training start to really lift. Our full focus turns to our opening game against 2022 Rivals Tarragindi Tigers. I'm glad we have a game of this calibre first up, as we know we can't go into this game with any complacently around the camp. I'd just like to end by shedding some light on our U23's team, as they went throughout Pre-Season playing some really attractive football, while also progressing as every game passed. I'm looking forward to their season also getting underway, as there are a number of players in the U23's that can make their impact on the First team season. For now, it's a weekend off and a great opportunity to have a little refresh before Round One.
