The Springfield Sports Commission is a mission-driven organization, working to contribute to the economic development of Springfield by bringing quality sporting events to the Springfield area. Bringing in sporting events to the Springfield area means more than just giving our locals more opportunities to see great athletic events! These events bring millions of dollars in visitor spending to our community. Visitor spending helps support jobs throughout the Springfield area and the sales tax goes back into our roads, parks, emergency services and helps with capital improvements!
The Springfield Sports Commission works with local, state, regional and national sports organizations. Springfield boasts top-notch sports facilities and competition venues for the active participant as well as providing outstanding venues for spectators. The Sports Commission Awards honors area scholastic athletes from the previous academic year by recognizing the best athletes, teams, and
HOSTED SINCE 2013 specialty awards in various categories. Nominees will be chosen by the nominating committee. This committee will compile the candidates based on a combination of honors, statistics, team success, and individual performance.

Sports Commission Cup
The Springfield Sports Commission Cup recognizes the outstanding athletic achievements of the entire athletics program at each school in the Sports Commission Awards area. Points are awarded to each school based upon their finish in the MSHSAA sanctioned sports. The Top Ten will be announced this evening. The winning school will receive the Sports Commission Cup which will preside at the School District for display and will then be presented to the winner each year.
