Springfield is home to five colleges universities with two additional universities and a college just a 40 minute drive away. These institutions not only offer a vibrant academic atmosphere but also provide exciting opportunities to experience collegiate sports. Many of their state-of-the-art facilities are available for hosting a variety of external sports events, making Springfield a dynamic hub for athletic activities.
Springfield Public Schools is one of the largest public schools in Missouri. Springfield also features several private schools, including Springfield Catholic High School and New Covenant Academy. The region also features many outstanding public schools in the Springfield MSA. These schools offer modern spaces for student use while also offering opportunities for outside rentals and events.
Great Southern Bank arena hosts the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions the highest attended high school basketball tournament in America.

The Missouri Thunder is a professional bull riding team based in the Ozarks region of Missouri, competing in the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series. Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Their home event, PBR Thunder Days, is held at the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield, Missouri.
Wilson Logistics Arena is home to a new brand of football, the Arena League. Established in 2024 the Arena League provides another outstanding entertainment option.
