Register to play our “Heads or Tails Game” ($20 entry) when you arrive at Salute or any time prior to the game. One lucky winner will receive a cash 50/50 prize (up to a $400 limit) simply by outlasting the other players and by having a little luck selecting “heads” or “tails!”

BIDDING on the Live Auction

Bidding on a live auction item is easy! Raise your Bidder Number high in the air for the auctioneer for one of the spotters to see. “Auction action” can be fast and furious; make note of your favorite items and get ready for the fun!

Paying For and Claiming Your Items

Items purchased in this evening’s Live Auction may be paid for and claimed at the Cashier beginning at approx. 8:15 PM. Cash, checks, and major credit cards are accepted as payment for items.

Auction items purchased are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by IRS regulations for charitable gifts. Only the difference between the fair market value of the items and the final purchase price qualifies as a charitable gift.

The Springfield Arts Council, item donors, auction commitee and auctioneer are not responsible for errors in descriptions or conditions of goods auctioned.

This program includes descriptions of auction items received by the Springfield Arts Council prior to our program printing deadline.

Unless otherwise noted in the bid description, most items purchased at tonight’s auction should be redeemed for use within the next 12 months or not later than March 9, 2025.

Proceeds from the Salute Benefit Auction support the Youth Arts Ambassadors, Summer Arts Festival, and other programs of the Springfield Arts Council.

"Shellac burn" is a technique used in encaustic painting to add "spidery" or marbled effects. Shellac (French polish) is painted onto wax and heated until it cracks, leaving an elegant, organic finish. This original 6" x 24" melted wax shellac burn encaustic was created by Jerri McDorman Studio in Springfield and will compliment your home or office.
