From the Director... Thinking about how far the Youth Arts Ambassadors have come over the last half-dozen or so years makes me very proud. This program has grown immensely, and become a second family to young people all over Clark County, and the surrounding area. This “family” is made up of our YAA members, directors, and the parents and siblings of those people. Together, we all work hard to not only create beautiful theater, but build a network of individuals, from different backgrounds, to support and care for each other. I’m ecstatic to be able to continue to present quality performing arts programs right now.YAA has been doing virtual programming since March of 2020; and while it has been very different, the connection to each other has been vital for all of us.Our focus has been on supporting one another, and tapping into our creativity to find new ways to connect with each other.I am so proud of this group for continuing to have faith in each other and being willing to leap into unknown territory to create theater together. The Youth Arts Ambassadors have a reputation for producing spectacular theater, and High School Musical Jr will be no exception. The production of this show has been unlike anything YAA has taken on before. There was no live audience to give our actors applause & laughter, the scenes and songs were not filmed in script order, and the majority of our rehearsals were done via zoom with everyone in their own spaces. It has been an amazing learning experience for our entire production team and cast, and we are so excited to share this piece of theater with our virtual audience! So, sit back and relax on your couch, bed, kitchen chair, or wherever you may be, and enjoy our virtual production of High School Musical JR... and thank you for your support of the Springfield Arts Council Youth Arts Ambassadors program!
