The Spotlight, January Issue

We are thrilled to share this new monthly journal dubbed, THE SPOTLIGHT, with you.
The Editor writes, "with this issue, we are launching a new popular (as opposed to peer-reviewed) journal – THE SPOTLIGHT. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first journal of this or any sort among the churches of Christ in Ghana. The churches of Christ in Ghana are far behind our Western brethren in the writing of Bible study materials. They can do research and quote their own people because they are a writing and a reading people. The same cannot be said about us, unfortunately. Little wonder then that most of our literature is sourced from the West. That is not necessarily a bad thing. However, it goes without saying that the churches of Christ in this part of the world will greatly benefit from having Bible study materials that are written by our local ministers. This paper helps in a small way to fill that gap.

The purpose of THE SPOTLIGHT is primarily to save souls through the teaching of God’s word on its pages to both Christians and non-Christians. To achieve this, we will treat general Bible lessons, cultural or ethical issues from a biblical perspective, and from time to time, certain brotherhood issues. Each issue will have a general theme and topics treated under that theme. It is not the aim of this paper to replace the Bible. Rather this paper aims to encourage the reader to search the Scriptures for themselves."
