A message from the President

I

t has been an active year for Bethlehem and the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce!

Our town and the Chamber continue to welcome new businesses, new residents, employees and visitors, and the Chamber remains a resource, providing assistance and support to businesses, organizations and the community. Our business-focused programming is offered each month through seminars, networking events, business referral groups, ribbon cuttings and grand openings.

We continue to expand our reach into the community by supporting events like the BOU Spelling Bee, Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy Summer Solstice Festival, Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post Memorial Day Parade, Our Towne Bethlehem Turkey Trot and partnering with the Tuesday and Saturday Farmers Markets in Delmar.

Additionally, our Chamber-sponsored community Jennifer Kilcoyne events include Restaurant Week in May, Small Business Saturday in November, our Holiday Shopping Card promotion in December, and the newly-launched Shop BETHLEHEM Gift Card which is available year-round. The card may be purchased online or at the Chamber in any amount from $5-$500 and used at a variety of local businesses. It’s the perfect gift for friends, family, teachers and employees, while highlighting our local businesses and keeping revenue here in the Bethlehem community.

The Chamber also remains involved in economic development and improvement projects in town, and we actively represent our members throughout the Capital Region by partnering with other Chambers, as well as participating in county, regional and statewide events.

Open Spaces Five Rivers -Five Rivers Environmental Education Center is a living museum comprising over 450 acres of broad fields, towering forests, and tranquil wetlands. Five Rivers offers people of all ages a rich variety of guided and self-guided opportunities to encounter nature directly.

Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy- The unused, old D&H rail bed has been turned into a multi-use trail for active transportation and recreation. A 4.3 mile stretch of The Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail is open 7 days a week from dawn to dusk from Veterans Memorial Park in Delmar to Voorheesville.

Pine Hollow Arboretum- The Pine Hollow Arboretum is a 25-acre, member-supported, notfor-profit arboretum and nature preserve situated five miles from downtown Albany, in Slingerlands, New York. The arboretum’s cataloged collection consists of over 3,300 unique trees, shrubs and other woody plants from around the world.

Moh-He-Con-Nuck Nature Preserve, is a 53-acre parcel with 1.2 miles of walking trails located between Simmons Road and the Glenmont Job Corps and between the Hudson River and Route 144 in Selkirk.
