Please don’t forget to invite every Jew you know, and tell them that the service is entirely in English and how funny the Rabbi is (me), and how cute the children are when they sing the Shma, etc. You can be proud to invite people to this gig; and they will thank you. We’re in your face, you can’t ignore us, & the price is right - the same as its been for the last 28 years that the Chai Center is sponsoring FREE High Holidays. In order to swing the Heavenly scales in your favor for a blessed year, it is a universal custom to give charity around the High Holy Days. We service 3,000, mostly non-affiliates, throughout RH, YK & the Suka Party. The facilities with all the advertising etc. amounts to a significant budget. Many thinking & considerate ppl realize that the cost for these programs are large & have been asking, “How can we contribute?” (We receive no funding from any org!) Since our HiHol program is the (first &) only one in LA on such a scale, your charity dollars are extremely cost effective! The small envelope is for your big check. Plz send it in now & avoid the Hi Holiday rush. Don't forget… we are a very non-profit organization. You can send double Chai ($36) to the Chai Center & we’ll buy the two prayer books for RH & YK that you (or another member of the tribe) will use. For $180 you supply a ½ minyan etc. Even if you don’t go, you’ll know that ppl are using “your” prayer books on Hi Hols, & you can write a note & we’ll inscribe the books; e.g. In honor of…In memory of…For the Birth; Bris; Bar; Bat; marriage; anniversary; divorce; retirement; graduation; other. Credit cards are “Kosher” for your tax deductible donation. You may also donate directly on line at www.chaicenter.org May you merit to do many mitzvahs & be written and sealed in the Book of Life for 5776!

Wednesday, September, 23 Services: 11:00am–2:30pm “Stump the Rabbi”: 3:00pm–5:30pm This is our very popular and well attended program intensely animated bcz 100’s of ppl are bursting with Q’s they’ve had stuck in their Kishkehs since age 12 or 13 etc. and now they get their chance.
5:30pm–7:26pm (when the fast ends), is the very moving "Closing of the gates" prayer ("Neila"). We've been getting over 600 members of the tribe (who can't pronounce "Neila") who are drawn to this inspiring experience.
