CHOCOLATE MILK MAKES A DIFFERENCE FOR HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES
Seeking the sweet spot for your athlete’s recovery regime? You can achieve the golden 3:1/4:1 carbs-to-protein ratio more effectively than traditional sports drinks with a refreshing and rehydrating glass of chocolate milk - and there’s research to back it up. The first-ever field-based study of high school athletes recovering post workout shows your adolescent athletes could be lifting a net total of 7% more than those recovering with sports drinks. Check out the findings.
THE RESULTS
High school athletes who recovered with chocolate milk immediately after training:
Bench-pressed an average of 3.5% more – whereas those who drank the commercial sports beverage lifted about 3.2% less.
Squat-lifted 15% more weight – versus commercial sports beverage drinkers who only lifted 8% more.
THE DIFFERENCE
Unlike traditional sport drinks, chocolate milk naturally contains eight grams of high-quality protein – including fast-absorbing whey and slow-absorbing casein – and electrolytes.
THE TAKEAWAY
Thanks to its ideal carbs-to-protein ratio, chocolate milk is a delicious, cost-effective way to rehydrate, repair and replenish (the 3 R’s) recovering muscles.
