We are delighted to welcome Yan Martin as the new Sports Program Director at the Adaptive Sports Foundation. His return is fantastic news, and we’re thrilled to have him back with us Yan’s deep understanding of our mission, along with his prior experience with ASF, will be invaluable in elevating our organization to new heights with fresh ideas and initiatives. With a degree in kinesiology and sports management, his expertise in adaptive sports will be a tremendous asset to ASF

Mackenzie Stairs

For many years, Mackenzie has volunteered for ASF’s ski program at Stoneham, a project she initiated herself. Thanks to her hard work, this program has become a cornerstone of our activities in the region Recognizing her dedication and expertise, we offered her the position of Sports Program Coordinator for Quebec and Mauricie regions.

We are extremely proud to be able to count on her experience in adaptive alpine skiing In addition to her skills in this field, Mackenzie is passionate about outdoor sports, making her a significant asset to our organization.

Audrey Larroquette and Geneviève Quintin

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks for all that Geneviève and Audrey have achieved for ASF Their dedication and teamwork have been greatly appreciated It has truly been a pleasure to work with them, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

Her enthusiasm and versatility will play a key role in expanding our programs in 2025 for the greater Quebec and Mauricie areas. Somehighlightsfromthe summerseason

The summer season at ASF is much more than just a series of outdoor activities It's a time when people share laughter and moments of joy It's a period where dreams come true for many of our participants

CampPapillon

We participated in the very first "Open House" day at Camp Papillon, which took place in August Visitors came to discover Camp Papillon but during this day, participants had the chance to try water skiing, paddle-boarding, and kayaking with ASF. Additionally, we provided a total of six days of water skiing for over 140 campers at Camp Papillon this summer. We would like to sincerely thank Camp Papillon and all their staff for helping us make this happen

Dahü

With our Dahus, we continue to provide support for individuals wishing to explore different trails Families or schools can request a loan of a Dahü so they can explore the trails on their own time and place. Loans are free of charge and transportation could be arranged in some cases. In the picture to the right, you can see a team of volunteer runners with Dany Duval at “La Série du canal” which took place in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu last June

ASFMauricie

On July 27 and 28, more than twenty participants came to try adaptive water skiing with their families during our visit to Shawinigan. We are very proud to serve the beautiful region of Mauricie through ASFMauricie. Following the merger between ASF and the Fondation Fusée last year, we now aim to recruit many new volunteers to help us increase the number of activities each year, both in summer and winter

Gaspé

In September, ASF visited Gaspé to offer adapted water skiing for individuals living in the region This activity was made possible through our sports program for veterans. The volunteering by the veterans allowed participants to live a unique experience. It’s a winwin concept for all. It provides veterans with a sense of accomplishment A huge thank you to our partners: the Quebec VeteransFoundation, the Associationdespersonneshandicapées deGaspé, URLS GÎM and the CityofGaspé.

On August 25, we enjoyed an exceptional day of water skiing at Léry in collaboration with the FondationDanielMoquindel’Espoir and the CentreHorizon. The warm welcome, impeccable organization and dedication of the volunteers made the day a memorable one We look forward to repeating the experience in 2025!

Lac-Brome

We offered many activity days on Brome Lake this summer thanks to the generosity of ReineBoisvert, owner of Domaine des Érables campground, and we thank her sincerely. Our waterski program has become the largest in Canada, thanks to the site's proximity to Montreal and Sherbrooke Smiles always on the menu at Brome Lake

LacSaint-Joseph

ASF offers several activity days every summer at Lake SaintJoseph, featuring highly appreciated introductory sessions by the participants The weather and smiles were perfect We would like to thank Mr FrancisJoncas, co-owner of the site, for his support of ASF Francis is himself a veteran and understands the benefits of volunteering. To watch a clip from the show Ça me regarde broadcasted on AMI-télé, please click on the photo.

CampMassawippi

For several years now, ASF has been responsible for water-skiing activities at Camp Massawippi. Every week, our volunteers head out to Ayer's Cliff to give campers the chance to enjoy some great moments on the water We're happy to be able to create many magical moments We'd like to thank Executive Director KarlBoulé for his confidence in ASF It's a wonderful partnership that we hope to maintain for many years to come.

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu is where we launched our water ski program in 2015. Since then, we ' ve continued to offer several days per summer for local residents living with physical disabilities It's always a real pleasure to ski with participants that have been taking part in our waterskiing program since the very beginning We are very grateful for the contribution of the CityofSaint-Jeansur-Richelieu, which allows us to use its site on the Richelieu River.

Adaptivealpineskiing

Aprogramthatreaches newheights.

The winter season at the Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF) is an exciting time when we offer alpine skiing activities across several regions in Quebec With our expertise and adapted equipment, we provide group programs and private initiation sessions Our trained volunteers welcome each participant, young or adult, for unforgettable and safe moments at the mountains. We believe that sports help people living with physical disability adopt an active lifestyle, socialize, and push their limits.

At ASF, everyone can enjoy alpine skiing, regardless of functional limitations We have the equipment and skills needed to meet each individual’s specific needs and collaborate with an increasing number of ski resorts that share our vision

Our mission is to make alpine skiing accessible to anyone who wants to practice it, without having to purchase costly equipment. We also support families, ski resorts, and communities to ensure every region can offer our services and create magical moments for all.

If you know people who would like to get involved and make a real difference, invite them to join us!

Ourvolunteers

An invaluable commitment

Volunteers are invaluable to all that we do. Thanks to the commitment, dedication and passion of over 250 volunteers every year, we are able to offer participants unique and enriching experiences. Whether it’s on the slopes, in the water, in the mountains, our true “Merchants of Happiness” embody the heart of the Adaptive Sports Foundation Our model relies 100% on their involvement, and without them, none of this would be possible

Every volunteer does their part! They all contribute to creating an inclusive and respectful environment where everyone can find a true sense of accomplishment and forge new friendships. They help to improve the lives of our participants by giving them a precious sense of freedom and confidence Every smile, every burst of laughter and every moment of joy is made possible thanks to them, and we are infinitely grateful In this coming year, we will challenge them all to invite at least one friend so they can discover what we do. We're convinced that to try it is to adopt it! Once again, we'd like to thank our volunteers for being with us on this wonderful human adventure.

Together, we ' re investing in instant happiness!

The Adaptive Sports Foundation is looking for passionate volunteers for our upcoming adaptive alpine skiing program. If you ' re passionate about alpine skiing and want to make a difference in the lives of people living with disabilities, this opportunity is for you! As a volunteer, you'll help our participants discover the joys of downhill skiing in a safe and inclusive environment. If you ' re interested, write to yan@sportsadaptesca Join
