THE BLUE-BLOODED SPEED MACHINE

Like his sensational barn-mate Rafeef, the blue-blooded Real Gone Kid hails from the Redoute’s Choice male line, the four-time Australian Champion Sire and international sire of sires.

Now headed into his second season at stud after covering 80 quality mares last term, the flashily athletic Real Gone Kid boasts a champion pedigree and will be fondly remembered by local racing enthusiasts for capturing the imagination when reeling off his six wins from 1000m to 1250.

His multiple Gr1-winning trainer Brett Crawford described Real Gone Kid as one of the fastest horses he has trained.

“What a class specimen! And he could match strides with anything over the sprints.

He was also sound and has a wonderful temperament – not something that is always a given in speed horses. I will be following his offspring in the sales rings and look forward to seeing his first foals in a few months’ time,” added the man who has trained close on 30 Gr1 winners, including Gr1 speed champions of the ilk of Laisserfaire, Gulf Storm, Bold Respect, Pacific Trader, and of course Champion Run Fox Run.

The exciting combination of a champion sire and hailing from a world-class female line, means that Real Gone Kid is no onedimensional speed hero. He is a son of Equus Champion and multiple Gr1 classic winner In The Fast Lane, who won at the elite level up to 2000m, and is a daughter of seven -times South African champion sire Jet Master, a leading broodmare sire.

Ridgemont’s Craig Carey is on record that Real Gone Kid has an international standard pedigree that wouldn’t be out of place in any stallion barn around the world.
