BALANCE It’s with great excitement that I introduce myself to the Spoke+Blossom community. A couple years ago I picked up a copy of this magazine in Edwards, Colorado, and immediately fell in love with the quality of storytelling behind it. It’s the kind of publication that really engages in the heart of a place and its colorful characters — a true work of art that honors journalism and the publishing industry in a such a revered and authentic way. It’s because of you that this publication exists and has the opportunity to thrive and evolve. Thank you to the Spoke+Blossom readers and partners for supporting the creativity and commitment that is behind this magazine, and for believing in the platform that it provides. Myself and my partner in publishing and soon-to-be husband, Bobby L’Heureux, are both so grateful that we can become connected to Western Colorado in a deeper way through Spoke+Blossom. Cat Mayer has been incredibly kind, thoughtful and helpful in the transition process, from one publisher to the next, and I’m excited that her photography and her generous advice will continue to grace the pages of this publication for as long as she will have us. Bobby and I also produce CO YOGA + Life® Magazine, and we look forward to introducing you to that publication as well. May this summer edition of Spoke+Blossom be one way that we acquaint ourselves to you, and a way to still see so many names and faces that continue to contribute. As seasons shift, years go by and things change, we come to accept the inevitable nature of transition, and it’s important to share that Bobby and I are committed to moving Spoke+Blossom forward with balance and grace. This issue has so many wonderful stories of lifestyle and adventure, with spreads that highlight seasonal recipes and full features on inspiring community organizations. ROSE MARIE BINGER Rose Marie has lived in Grand Junction almost all of her 29 years and is in love with the Grand Valley she calls home. VICKI FELMLEE Vicki Felmlee owns TCS Aerial Visuals, offering free demonstrations to schools and consultation to other businesses; she also promotes and organizes drone (quad/FPV) racing. She is a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and the Grand Junction Modeleers.
Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.
