FLOURISH

VERB: TO GROW OR DEVELOP IN A HEALTHY OR VIGOROUS WAY, ESPECIALLY AS THE RESULT OF A PARTICULARLY FAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT.

We Asked These Western Slope Locals to Weigh in on This Topic

Compiled by Laura Mills

“Flourish, to me, is the feeling you have when you find your place and people. I have always thought my journey in winemaking would keep me away from my home state of Colorado, but when my husband and I stumbled upon Palisade and the opportunity to make great Colorado wine, we planted our feet and dug in. The French term ‘terroir’ describes the environment grapes require to thrive, with contributing factors like soil, sun and climate. The Western Slope not only provides an amazing terroir for its vineyards but also its people, a community that encourages and inspires growth, which in turn lets us all flourish.”

“I am proud to see Bluecorn and our employees flourishing in so many ways, both individually and as a company, and what brings me the greatest joy is to see the community coming together with such vitality. We built a magical space, and they came. From toddler play dates to serendipitous encounters, from business meetings to live jazz, Bluecorn is a high vibe hub of Montrose and Southern San Juan culture. It’s where we come to flourish ... and make candles.”

“I created Desert Gravel as a venue for you to flourish. In the context of ultra-endurance sports and desert gravel biking, flourish refers to the physical and mental growth and development that occurs when individuals push themselves to their limits in a challenging and favorable environment. It encompasses the idea of thriving and achieving success through adversity and the transformation that occurs as a result of this experience. The act of participating in a Desert Gravel event can serve as a powerful catalyst for personal growth and development, and the stories and experiences of those who have taken on such a challenge serve as a testament to the opportunity to flourish in our hometown of Fruita.” :
