He loves coaching this age of kids and does his absolute best to prepare them for what is next.

To go with this, Gradey is also extremely easy to coach. “He’s a great kid with a great personality. He is goofy and ornery, and a joy to be around.”

Among the many Division I commits coming out of the program are Zachary Clemence, class of 2021, 6–10, power forward, as well as Gradey Dick, class of 2022, 6–7, shooting guard. Both have decided to join the Jayhawk family, committing to the University of Kansas. Clemence, who is originally from San Antonio, Texas, earned the opportunity to attend and play for his dream school, KU. Dick, a junior at Sunrise, is from right here in Wichita. Though it was a big decision, he committed to the University of Kansas last month and will be oining his current teammate for the 2022–2023 season. For Dick, this was not a difficult decision, he knew in his heart where he wanted to go, which made his decision to stay home in Kansas much, much easier. I love making the cookies and eating cookies. They’re so good.” In addition to being part of the AHS family, Luc is known in his own family as a great helper, one with a servant’s heart. He hopes to choose a job after high school that will allow him to spend a lot of time with people, be helpful in his job while finding enjoyment and fulfillment. Michelle and Luc’s other family members value his unique perspective and his outgoing personality. As a brother and a friend, his relationships are meaningful and joyful. While family and friends provide a capable and encouraging support system for Luc, they also love just hanging out and having fun together. Upon reflection of her professional training and leadership roles, as well as her profoundly important role as a mother of five, Michelle had this to offer. “Every step has served as a stone that led me to what I’m doing now with my family, my work and education. It’s a good picture and sometimes challenging. But this is where we're supposed to be, every part, a piece of our family’s puzzle.”

When Betsy first got Tulip, she had no idea how big the 5-pound piglet would grow. She used to carry him in her arms, dress him in jackets, and bring him along on dog grooming appointments. But it wasn’t long before Tulip had outgrown those activities and established his spot at home by the fire. Betsy said pigs are as smart as a 3-year-old child.
