In Loving Memory of District Two Director Jesse Pospisil SPJST District 2 Director Jesse Pospisil of Taylor, Texas, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, at the age of 78. Brother Pospisil, a member of Lodge 29, Taylor, dedicated almost 14 years of service as SPJST District 2 Director. He was a 58-year member of SPJST. He passed away peacefully at Beacon House Hospice Facility in Round Rock. Visitation was held at Taylor Brethren Church in Taylor on Saturday May 30, at 11 a.m. Funeral services followed at 12 p.m. Burial was at Machu Cemetery in Granger. A funeral gathering and meal followed at SPJST Lodge 29, Taylor. Jesse was born December 5, 1947, at Stromberg Hospital in Taylor to M.W. “Jessie” Pospisil and Helen (Horak) Pospisil. He grew up in Taylor and grad-
uated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1966. Jesse met the love of his life, Linda Tallas, when they were soph-
omores in high school. They were married June 10, 1967, and moved to Austin. They were blessed with two

daughters, Tammy and Cristy. Jesse began his professional career with the Texas Department of Public Safety and a few years later started working for the Texas Highway Department, now known as TxDOT. He worked there for 32 years before retiring in 2000, building many lifelong friendships along the way. Jesse also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 28 1/2 years, retiring in 1996 with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was proud of his military service and the friendships he made throughout those years. Jesse had a servant’s heart and was active in several organizations, including the American Legion, Graham D. Luhn Post 39, KJT, Masonic Lodge No. 484, Texas Czech Genealogical Society, Continued on Page 5.

Lodge 47, Seaton In 1910, Paul Olejnik served as president of SPJST Lodge 47, Seaton. More than a century later, his family’s connection to SPJST remains strong with the arrival of a new generation. Born on February 4, 2025, Lucy Hoelscher represents the sixth generation of her family to be connected to SPJST and Lodge 47, Seaton. She is the daughter of Thomas and Brooke Hoelscher.
