Scenes from SPJST State Progressive Straight Domino Tournament

On Saturday, March 4, 2023, a total of 20 players participated in the SPJST State Progressive Straight Domino Tournament at the SPJST Home Office in Temple. This was the first time that this tournament was progressive. Lunch was served at 12 noon, and everyone had a good time competing and seeing each other.

Of the 20 players who participated in the 10-round tournament, 10 were SPJST members. Players drove into Temple from the state of Arkansas and from Taylor, Elk, and Ennis. Leonard

Kaderka of Lodge 29, Taylor visited the tournament to display custom-made wooden domino markers. Leonard specializes in custom wood products. He builds tables, cowboy hat racks, specialty items, picture frames, and domino markers. I personally want to thank Leonard for helping us out and being our 20th domino player.

At the end of the tournament, door prizes were drawn while results were being tabulated. Don Wesley of Ennis received a special prize – the box of Lucky Charms cereal and a Texas Lot- tery scratch-off ticket. Don won $25 on the lottery ticket.

First through fourth place winners received a plaque and cash award. Leonard Kaderka gifted the first through fourth place winners with a complimentary domino marker made from black walnut.
