Fall 2023

Thank you, On behalf of the Fall 2023 E-board, we would like to say thank you. Thank you to the Student Association for funding this semester’s magazine. Thank you to our club advisor, Katherine Spitzhoff, for being the constant motivation and support we need to keep this club going. Finally, we would like to say thank you to all the amazing artists who submitted to this semester’s magazine. This amazing product that represents artistry and creative freedom is a great way to showcase and praise the talented artists on the SUNY Oneonta Campus. We could not have done it without you all! This E-board is entirely grateful to every one of you and cannot wait to do this all again next semester! President, Cymphani Hargrave

Charcoal In The Blo o dStream it will never be enough. love, an inch-a sliverfrom my fingertips. it mocks the canvas, these red blood cells display. for lust is bright pink with wine tinted edges, while the creatures deep within only hold a mulch bucket and an overly abused 6”brush. i’m no professor •°•~ just a hopeless romantic who sketches each time another possibility, darkens my water cup. if you peaked within my portfolio, thousands of 8×11 printing paper have met their end-a charcoal coated graveyard. like a struggling artist, my passion to be wanted, is an everlasting fight of approval. BLISSFUL CREATURE Hanah Garay

“Will O'Wisp” Floating, in the center of a darkened room, there, there is a lantern: You won’t lead me astray, o will o’wisp, for while my heart Still takes holidays in the hills, They are no longer my muse. I have never known a benevolent tree, they are uncaring at best, Unforgiving at worst, and justifiably so– But cold nature alone can fuel me no longer. That lantern still hovers in my room, A harshly glowing orb that whispers of moss, of endless forest, of marshland Of hill upon hill, a labyrinth of trees. It wants to lead me, to guide my pen, to write in a voice laced With my ingrained fear, Till I’m lost and drowning in the bog A figure of pain, preserved in the peat. But no, I will not follow it, for the will o’wisp my muse no longer is.

Girl Rotting God it’s scary.

It feels like I am the fish at the very bottom of the net, watching the rest of the fish gasp for their last breath of air knowing my inevitable fate, no Nemo to save me. But the rest of the fish are all my past selves, inevitably crushed by the institution that is life itself. Oh, how I miss them so, my dreams fill the void they created from leaving me, how could I let them leave me? I mourn for them in my sleep, but this time there is no castle on this cloud. Just the lost conception of time and the hysteria that is the voices of the girls I left behind.

Since, I’m just a girl, right?
