Welcome, Friends and Cattlemen.

We are excited to invite you to our Annual Production Sale this year and to present this offering for your inspection! We truly enjoy getting to raise Angus cattle and marketing seedstock and are excited every spring to present the breeding decisions from two-years-ago for you to evaluate. This set of cattle has performed tremendously.

Our focus long has been on making the best Angus cow we possibly can. We don’t tolerate mothering challenges, teat and udder size problems, or poor temperament. Cows that make us upset for any reason get culled, plain and simple. We don’t want problems and darn sure don’t want to pass them along to our customers. Through very careful sire selection, and heavy use of certain bulls we have been able to really advance our maternal objectives. We don’t use a lot of different sires, and for good reason. Our goal is to build a cowherd, stacked with like genetics, full of consistency and predictability, identifying the bulls that will make our females better each generation.

In short, it is truly our belief that if the cows work, everything else will fall into place. The female component of what we do has to be at the forefront of every decision. If the cows aren’t hard working, good uddered, good producing females, with excellent feet and fertility nothing else matters. There is no reason to accept problem cows and even less reason to keep them around.

This set of calves was weaned in late September and started onto feed well. We had a hot, fly ridden summer as did much of you in the northern plains. These bulls and heifers grew exceptionally well this past winter. As always, our bulls will be backed down on energy, transitioned to almost an entirely forage diet and ready to go to grass and get cows bred. These bulls live in large pens, get lots of exercise and will be sound, hard, heavy muscled, and ready to get to work. The heifers have been managed the same as always. Every heifer on the ranch gets the same ration, and these females are cycling, had their pre-breeding shot in mid-March and will be ready to breed immediately.

All registered lots in this sale have genomic enhanced EPDs and are parent verified through the AngusGS test. By doing this, we ensure not only the pedigree we are selling but also offer the most accurate EPD data available. Scrotal measurements will be available on our web site by mid-April. (www.spicklerranchsouth.com)

As in the past, videos of each lot will be available two weeks before the sale. A link to the videos will be available on our web site as well as the DVAuction site. Online bidding will be available through DVAuction.com. You must register with them prior to the sale.

The sale offering and their dams are available for viewing anytime ahead of the sale. We would also like to invite you to our ranch on Sunday afternoon and evening to view the cattle and enjoy a supper that will be served Sunday evening at 6 pm.

We sincerely thank you for considering us as your genetic source. We truly enjoy raising Angus cattle and getting to provide seedstock for our customers. We know early May is a busy time, but we invite you to come out, evaluate our sale offering, have lunch and enjoy the sale!

AMERICAN ANGUS ASSOCIATION SELECTION TOOLS

Expected Progeny Difference (EPD), is the prediction of how future progeny of each animal are expected to perform relative to the progeny of other animals listed in the database. EPDs are expressed in units of measure for the trait, plus or minus. Interim EPDs may appear on young animals when their performance has yet to be incorporated into the American Angus Association National Cattle Evaluation (NCE) procedures. This EPD will be preceded by an “I”, and may or may not include the animal’s own performance record for a particular trait, depending on its availability, appropriate contemporary grouping, or data edits needed for NCE.

Accuracy (ACC), is the reliability that can be placed on the EPD. Accuracy will range from 0 to 1 with an accuracy closer to 1.0 indicating higher reliability. Accuracy is impacted by the amount of information that is included in the analysis including individual genotype and performance records as well as number of progeny and ancestral records.

PRODUCTION

Calving Ease Direct (CED), expressed as a difference in percentage of unassisted births, with a higher value indicating greater calving ease in first-calf heifers. It predicts the average difference in ease with which a sire’s calves will be born when he is bred to firstcalf heifers.

Birth Weight (BW), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit birth weight to his progeny compared to that of other sires.

Weaning Weight (WW), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit weaning growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires.

Yearling Weight (YW), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit yearling growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires.

Residual Average Daily Gain (RADG), feed efficiency expressed in pounds per day, is a predictor of a sire’s genetic ability for post-weaning gain in future progeny compared to that of other sires, given a constant amount of feed consumed.

Dry Matter Intake (DMI), expressed in pounds per day, is a predictor of difference in transmitting ability for feed intake during the post-weaning phase, compared to that of other sires.

Yearling Height (YH), expressed in inches, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit yearling height compared to that of other sires.

Scrotal Circumference (SC), expressed in centimeters, is a predictor of the difference in transmitting scrotal size compared to that of other sires.

MANAGEMENT

Claw Set (Claw), expressed in units of claw-set score, a lower EPD is more favorable, indicating a sire will produce progeny with more symmetrical, even and appropriately spaced toes compared to another sire.

Foot Angle (Angle), expressed in units of foot-angle score, a lower EPD is more favorable, indicating a sire will produce progeny with an angle closer to 45 degrees at the pastern and appropriate toe length and heel depth compared to another sire.

Docility (DOC), expressed as a difference in yearling cattle temperament, with a higher value indicating more favorable docility in a sire’s offspring compared to another sire.

Pulmonary Arterial Pressure EPD (PAP), expressed in millimeters of Mercury (mmHg), with a lower EPD being more favorable indicating a sire should produce progeny with a lower PAP score to decrease the risk of progeny contracting high altitude disease most commonly experienced at 5,500 ft or greater in elevation.

Hair Shed EPD (HS), expressed in units of hair shed score, with a lower EPD being more favorable. This indicates a sire should produce progeny who shed their winter coat earlier in the spring and has improved environmental adaptability in heat stressed areas and grazing endophyte-infected (hot) fescue.

MATERNAL

Heifer Pregnancy (HP), is a selection tool to increase the probability or chance of a sire’s daughters becoming pregnant as first–calf heifers during a normal breeding season. A higher EPD is the more favorable direction, and the EPD is reported in percentage units.

Calving Ease Maternal (CEM), expressed as a difference in percentage of unassisted births, with a higher value indicating greater calving ease in first-calf daughters. It predicts the average ease with which a sire’s daughters will calve as first-calf heifers when compared to daughters of other sires.

Maternal Milk (Milk), expressed in pounds of calf weaned, is a predictor of a sire’s genetic merit for milk and mothering ability in his daughters. In other words, it is the part of the calf’s weaning weight attributes to milk and mothering ability.

Mature Weight (MW), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of the difference in mature weight of daughters of a sire compared to the daughters of other sires.

Mature Height (MH), expressed in inches, is a predictor of the difference in mature height of a sire’s daughters compared to daughters of other sires.

CARCASS

Carcass Weight (CW), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of the differences in hot carcass weight of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.

Marbling (Marb), expressed as a fraction of the difference in USDA marbling score of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.

Ribeye Area (RE), expressed in square inches, is a predictor of the difference in ribeye area of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.

Fat Thickness EPD (Fat), expressed in inches, is a predictor of the differences in external fat thickness at the 12th rib (as measured between the 12th and 13th ribs) of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.

$VALUE INDEXES

$Value Indexes, expressed in dollars per head, are multi-trait selection indexes where a higher value suggests more profit. The $Value is an estimate of how future progeny of each sire are expected to perform, on average, compared to progeny of other sires if sires were randomly mated to cows and if calves were exposed to the same environment.

Maternal Weaned Calf Value ($M), expressed in dollars per head, predicts profitability differences in progeny due to genetics from conception to weaning by decreasing mature cow size and improving docility, foot structure and fertility while maintaining weaning weights consistent with today’s production.

Weaned Calf Value ($W), expressed in dollars per head, provides the expected difference in future progeny pre-weaning performance from birth to weaning.

Energy Value ($EN), expressed in dollar savings per cow per year with a larger value being more favorable. It assesses differences in cow energy requirements, due to maternal milk and mature cow size.

Feedlot Value ($F), expressed in dollars per head, is the expected average difference in future progeny performance for post-weaning feedlot merit (growth and feed efficiency) compared to progeny of other sires assuming producers retain ownership of cattle through the feedlot phase and sell on a carcass-weight basis.

Grid Value ($G), expressed in dollars per carcass, is the expected average difference in future progeny performance for carcass grid merit, including quality and yield grade attributes, compared to progeny of other sires.

Beef Value ($B), expressed in dollars per carcass, represents the expected average differences in the progeny post-weaning performance and carcass value compared to progeny of other sires. This index assumes commercial producers wean all male and female progeny, retain ownership of these animals through the feedlot and sell on a carcass merit grid.

Combined Value ($C), expressed in dollars per head, which includes all traits that make up both Maternal Weaned Calf Value ($M) and Beef Value ($B) with the objective that commercial producers will replace 20% of their breeding females per year with replacement heifers retained within their own herd. The remaining cull heifer and steer progeny are then assumed to be sent to the feedlot where the producers retain ownership of those cattle and sell them on a quality-based carcass merit grid.

Kraye Big Country was one of the elite bulls that sold in the spring of 2021. Admired by many breeders by the amount of muscle, power and performance he contained, he garnered a final bid of $106,000 as the all-time high selling bull to come out of the good Kraye Angus herd in NE. After careful consideration, we chose two years ago that we were ready to put Big Country into our program. Last Spring, when the current calf crop we are selling were baby calves, we couldn’t contain our excitement for this great sire, and knew he was going to be an incredible fit for our cowherd. After utilizing him heavily again and having a large number of calves being born here this Spring, we wanted to be fully in on this great sire. We were fortunate enough to purchase full pasture rights on Big Country from High Point Genetics, IA and will continue to put this major impact sire to use heavily at Spickler Ranch South.

Big Country is an incredible breeding bull. Backed by a strong producing lineage, the cows that generate his maternal backbone have production and longevity that is simply something to marvel at. The first three cows on the bottom side of his pedigree are all still in production and they are 8, 10 and 13 years old. Not only do they have longevity, but they have compiled progeny weaning ratios of 6/106, 6/106 and 11/103 respectively. Beyond these three high production females, the next two cows in Big Country’s pedigree recorded progeny weaning ratios of 8/106 and 9/103. We can’t wait to get our first Big Country daughters in production next Spring. The job he has done as a sire on udder quality, teat size, and bred in longevity has him positioned to only continue to elevate our goals of constant maternal advancement. As a sire, Big Country has done everything we’ve asked of so far. A true performance bull, he added length, size, pounds and performance to every pedigree we used him on. He “powers up” cattle but does it in a way that still maintains rib shape, body depth, and doing ability. His sons are high value cattle, but his daughters just may be his best part. They are neat fronted and long necked, yet are open though their chest, expansive in their rib shape, and deep flanked. Our 2025 sale offering is dominated by Big Country. His sons and daughters we are offering are truly difference makers and some of the real good cattle we have had the opportunity to offer for sale. 26 sons sell May 5!

Armstrong topped out 2022 bull sale offering selling to ST Genetics for $90,000. A bull that created quite a stir the spring he sold, he presents an appealing and balanced Epd profile, ranking in the breeds elite for several traits. We have used him back heavily into our program and he has far exceeded our hopes as a breeding bull. His sons are really attractive bulls, rich in breed character in terms of their head and neck, and expressive in the muscle shape they display down their top and through their quarter. After calving our first Armstrong daughters this past spring, it appears they will be where his legacy is stamped. Over and over we see his dam’s teat size and udder attachment shine through on these young females. Living up to his pedigree’s expectations he truly combines a who’s who amongst known female making sires as he combines Foundation, Game Day and Right Time. Armstrong has a big place in our genetic decisions going forward and we are excited to continue to offer his progeny in volume. 18 sons sell May 5!

We purchased Heritage as the $36,000 second high selling bull of the 2022 Midland bull test. A bull that we really admired due to his body, mass, performance, and added size, what really sealed the deal on him for us was the strength of the females behind him. Stemming from two of Leachman’s most elite producing cows, his dam and grand dam record weaning ratios of 6/112 and 9/110 respectively. Heritage has been incorporated heavily into our breeding program and has excelled greatly as a sire. A modest birth sire, he adds performance, length and size to every pedigree we mated him to. His sons are some of the real performance standouts we are offering. We calved our first Heritage daughters this spring and they are going to be special. Deep bodied and stout, they display consistent teat size and udder attachment that is reminiscent of calving our first Coalitions. The quality this young bull has sired has his place firmly cemented in our breeding program and we will offer his progeny in volume in future sales as well. 13 sons sell May 5!

Coalition came to us from U2 ranch in Alberta as their high selling Angus bull in 2016. How time flies, it is hard to imagine that we are already offering our sixth group of his sons. Coalition has established himself as one of the really good sires we have ever used. He has an uncanny ability to make cattle good. From the ground up, the phenotype he stamps his progeny with is nearly unparalleled amongst any sires we’ve used in recent times. His bulls look like bulls and his daughters look like females. He puts a big, wide, expressive hip and great structure into his progeny while consistently improving breed character as he really puts a nice, Aberdeen head on his sons and daughters. We attribute much of the potency he has as a sire to the incredibly good female he is out of. Erelite 109Z is one of the absolute best Angus cows we have ever seen, and Coalition puts her small teats, and quality udder unfailingly into his daughters. Coalition is deceased and his semen is limited and this will be one of the last offerings of his progeny we will have. Forever cemented into our herd will be the legacy of this great sire, living on through his many productive, and strong producing daughters. If you haven’t tried a Coalition from us yet, this might be the year to grab onto one. 8 sons sell May 5!

Retained from his calf crop, Wrangler is one of the really complete bulls visually we have ever raised. He exhibits tremendous muscle shape, power and structural correctness that was unparalleled amongst his peers. A Coalition son, he is double bred to the performance, muscle, and maternal sire, Chisum, who has his footprint all over our program. We sold possession and an interest in Wrangler to M Diamond Angus, WY and recently a breeding interest to

offering of Wrangler sons. He has put his stamp on his progeny. His sons are muscle bulls, exhibiting real, raw muscle shape. They are largely calving ease bulls, yet still present strong performance and as much visual muscle as any sire group we are offering. Wrangler daughters are beauties as they have come into production. Angular and Angus headed in their make-up, they show tremendous rib shape and muscle expression, much like their male counterparts. Their maternal temperament is top-notch and they have very good udders. Wrangler is a calving ease sire who adds muscle, pounds, and sure looks to enhance maternal and will be a part of our program for years to come. 15 sons sell May 5!

Millars Duke is the popular Beef-360 and Schaff Angus Valley herd sire. We added him into our program through AI as a calving ease bull with solid maternal function. He has well served the role we’ve asked of him, and we are excited to offer a real high-quality lineup of his progeny. Quiet tempered, moderate framed cattle, our Duke calves have performed well and numerous of his sons will be calving ease bulls, presenting a new pedigree for our program. Balanced numerically, his progeny will fit into many breeding scenarios keeping performance at a profitable level without sacrificing body type and maternal quality. 13 sons sell May 5!

SR South Reliable was retained from our 2022 calf crop to serve us as a resident pasture sire. A really complete calf, he, like Revolution is a mating of time-tested proven genetics as he is sired by MAR Innovation and out of our cherished Blossom 0278 donor dam. As a calf, Reliable was a real standout amongst his peers, offering added frame, length, size and performance. When we entered him into our pasture rotation, we were confident in his ability to add value through quality sons, while also leveling up the power of our replacement pen. He has not disappointed at all and will continue to see strong use in our pastures. Mostly later born, his sons are some of the really good bulls in the entire offering. They display extra rib and flank, with strong performance ratios. Maternally, we expect his daughters could be some of the real nice heifers we’ve had with the strength of Blossom anchoring the lower half of his pedigree. Take a look at this sire group – they are a fresh pedigree with a secure maternal foundation. 6 sons sell May 5!

S Revolution was the high-selling bull from our 2023 Production Sale selected by Regency Acres, MT. His pedigree is founded on proven and tested genetics as both of his parents were born 14 years ago. Sired by the long time Genex roster member, Innovation, he is out of our highly proven donor dam, Elba 1004. We have long appreciated the Innovation cattle and the maternal function, longevity and consistency they contain, and we utilized him into our ET program trying to align him with our elite producing females to keep maternal advancement backed by readily proven no-guesswork genetics. We are offering our first progeny by Revolution and he has absolutely not disappointed. A sire of extra muscle shape, stoutness and bone, his sons are some of the well-constructed cattle we will offer in this sale. From the ground up, they are durably built with the look of years of service awaiting them. On the female side, our Revolution heifers are all we could hope for. Modest framed, deep bodied, stout things - they look like the surviving kind that will be able to thrive any of the harshest of environments. His sons are well worth serious consideration, they are living proof of the power of his pedigree. 12 sons sell May 5!

Coleman Glacier 041 is the $270,000 high selling bull of the spring 2022 Coleman Angus bull sale. He is royally bred sire, stacked with generations of maternal consistency. We appreciated his phenotype and the power of the cows that back him. Introduced through our ET program, our hope with Glacier was to obtain several heifer calves of elite maternal status. In trying to get these heifers we also ended up with several sons and they will be some of the really good phenotype, highly maternal directed bulls that are in our sale offering. The amount of muscle shape, structural correctness and visual power he sired is exciting and the pleasant

his daughters contain have us even more excited about his influence in our program. 8 sons sell May 5!

Individually, Lot 1 is about as good of a bull phenotypically as we’ve ever kicked out. With a +13 CED, he’s a calving ease prospect who is way good. Incredibly balanced in his design he is hard to ever find not looking good. Strong topped, level over his hip, super sound on the move and expressively muscled, he handles himself with an elite poise only the good ones can muster. He will be used back in our program and is an exciting sire prospect possessing a foundation built on generations of phenotypic and genetic excellence. Suitable for heifers. Selling 2/3 interest and full possession.

Lots 1,2

This pair of ET sons by Coleman Glacier out of our matriarch donor, Blossom 0278, will lead off our 2025 sale offering. We introduced Glacier through our ET program as we were so impressed with the balance of phenotypic excellence and maternal strength he possesses. His donor dam is a really high-quality female who sold for $175,000 for one-half interest out of Coleman 2023 Your Maternal Source Sale. Our experience with her sire, Game Day, was very high-quality udders in his productive daughters. All of this combined with the legacy Blossom 0278 has left in our herd and we felt this genetic combination was a stacking of maternal excellence that will no doubt produce some of the best females possible. These two ET sons couldn’t have us more pleased. Good footed, strong numerically they offer a wide array of quality to the beef industry.

Lot 2 – This guy is an absolute powerhouse. His performance Epds back up the mass, size and pounds he has. Longer and heavier than his flushmate, Lot 1 offers real performance adding ability. He has a small bump under his chin, it is hard and he’s had it since last August due to an injury.

Starting life at 69 pounds, he boasts strong performance Epds, a ribeye Epd of +1.10 and $M and $C at the top of this entire offering. His dam is an ET daughter of donor dam Blossom 0278 sired by Tahoe. She is a big middled, quiet, easy-going cow who calved in mid-May last year and mid-March this year. She got the opportunity to breed for July to raise this calf only because of a bull injury. The fertility she has shown in moving right back into our first cycle is impressive. From all directions this Armstrong son is a herd bull. He has the numeric and genetic advantage to propel him into the category of this sale’s elite. Suitable for heifers.

A pair of ET sons of Coleman Glacier and U2 Erelite 109Z. When we chose to make this embryo mating our hope was to really compound maternal phenotypic excellence as we combined the great Donna 439 with 109Z. We ended up with two bulls that not only are royally bred maternally, but they are also really good kind. Both super attractive in their build, they are expressive bulls readily displaying the muscle and power they contain within. Their donor dam is the most influential female we have ever flushed. 109Z, best known as Coalitions dam, is an absolute power female, and one of the best Angus cows we’ve ever had a chance to be around. No matter who we mate her to she passes on extra muscle, mass and performance. As we are starting to get a collection of her daughters in production, it is really exciting to see how her udder quality and performance genetics still shine through. Don’t miss the opportunity to own a piece of her with either of these two late summer born bulls. They and Lot 9 are the only chance to have a son of hers this year. These are high-quality bulls, useful in their kind and ready to make an impact wherever they are put to work.

We only have a few bulls on offer this year by U2 Erelite 109Z, our high impact donor best known as the dam of Coalition. She is about as powerful of an Angus female as we’ve encountered, and as we assimilate numerous daughters of her into our herd from multiple matings, we see her udder quality and producing power shine through over and over. Lot 9 will start off our highly competitive offering of yearling bulls and he is the definition of raw power. Scanning an actual ribeye of 19.1 inches at just over a year of age, the amount of real muscle he possesses is hard to contend with. Standing behind him he is about as wide as any bull calf we’ve seen. He has tremendous shape to his hip, is wide over his pins and ties abounding muscle shape into the lower third of his quarter. A high-performing bull, he gained 4.18 pounds from weaning to yearling to accomplish a 1408 pound yearling weight. On the move it is a joy to see how his stout, heavy bone work can travel his amount of muscle and power with so much ease. Numerically he offers performance geared Epds that further enhance his ability to be a sire of pounds and more pounds. We fully expect his daughters to be the “elite” producing kind with his pedigree combination of Big Country and the great 109Z. He is worth seeing. Total powerhouse. Big time herd bull.

When we chose to flush Armstrong’s dam to Big Country we were hoping to compound maternal excellence, generational udder quality and bolster phenotypic efficiency. The bull calf that resulted from this ET mating is offered as Lot 10. He is one of the big time herd bull prospects we have offered.

Starting life at 70 pounds, this +10 CED, strong performing calf blankets all facets of beef production at an elite level. He weighed heavy at weaning and yearling, while also scanning with a 118 marbling ratio and a 16 inch ribeye. Visually he is a strikingly well-designed calf. So balanced in his kind, he presents an elite structure with tremendous muscle and mass. Wide chested, expansive in his rib shape, he is square hipped and expressive through the lower third of his stifle. He stands down on enough substance of bone to indicate longevity and power yet is conservative enough in his bone circumference to still validate his calving ease merit. His dam is an elite producing female stacked with generations of long lasting, high producing females. Stemming from a 9/107 weaning ratio grand dam, and a 7/110 weaning ratio third dam, this elite bull’s maternal foundation is well cemented. We will use this calf back in our program and anxiously await the maternal and performance impact he will make.

Suitable for heifers. Selling 2/3 interest and full possession.

Out and out performance powerhouse by Big Country. A standout and favorite of ours forever, Lot 11 is a big time herd bull prospect. Carefully blending worlds of muscle, he is about as big topped, wide hipped and expressive in his muscle pattern as any bull in the offering. Coming off his dam with a 121 weaning ratio, he weighed nearly 1400 pounds at a year and scanned just short of a 16 inch ribeye. Guided by elite performance Epds he has the look of one that will alter phenotype and put real muscle in his progeny. His dam is a special cow. Quiet as quiet gets, she is our highest indexing Coalition daughter and boasts a progeny record of 5/113 at weaning, 5/108 at yearling, 5/113 for marbling and 5/106 for ribeye. On the short list for our donor program, she is small teated, deep flanked and descends from the same cow family that produced Chisum 6175. This good calf is a legitimate herd bull prospect. Where to begin on Lot 12. Numerically he offers an uncharted combination of calving ease and performance with a +12 CED, +103 WW and +179 YW Epd. Further pushing the limits of what we’ve seen combined in one pedigree, he also ratioed 125 off his dam, weighed 1416 at a year to index 119, and scanned with a 14 inch ribeye and above average muscle. Beyond all this he’s a pretty darn good bull visually. Offering as much frame and length as any in the offering, he packs worlds of performance into a very balanced and likeable package. He excites us further when we mention his dam. Our Logo daughters are good and his young dam is tiptoeing on becoming a great one. A nice sized young female, she is articulate in her teat size and placement, has a calm way about her and always stays in good condition. Their dam joined our donor herd as an elite feature from the fall 2021 Ladies of the Beartooth sale in MT, as the high-selling female. She is a wide chested, good sized, stout female who combines the power of Resource with a dam by EXT. As we get her going in our donor rotation, she has not disappointed. She adds performance and muscle to every bull we’ve flushed her too. Her sons by Coalition are the real deal. Lots 13 and 14 epitomize muscle in Angus cattle. They are quite possibly the stoutest Coalition sons we have ever offered and truly a sight to see. Both bulls are explosive in their muscle shape and expression, displaying thickness from every angle. Performing strongly their whole lives these guys weaned heavy, grew fast to a year, and both scanned well over 15 inch ribeyes, validating the perceived muscle in these bulls. Beyond all the power they have they are still good headed, clean fronted, proud appearing bulls with plenty of bone and a really right balance of hoof size and structural correctness. Since early last summer Lot 17 was a total standout. A full brother to Armstrong he is one good dude. Absolutely loaded with muscle, he bulges in places that other bulls don’t even have. Weaning heavy off of his recip, he was one of the top gaining bulls over winter and recorded a 1428 pound yearling weight. A star on ultrasound day, he indexed 115 for marbling and scanned a very large 17.1 inch ribeye to ratio 129 in his ET contemporary group. We call him Authentic. He is a true sire of performance and muscle. When he travels towards you that amount of forearm and width of chest he has is impressive. As he travels away the amount of lower third expression and pop to his stifle he has is dually impressive. Combine all this with the maternal excellence he derives from his dam and he is going to be an impact maker wherever he lands. Backed by impressive $C and $M indexes, he also claims one of the nicest females on the ranch as his dam. She is a 4/96 birth ratio daughter of “316” who hasn’t missed yet. Quiet, good footed, small teated - she knows how to earn a living and look good doing it. This good sized high-performing bull gets high marks across all categories.

Elite performance son of Wrangler. This good sized, heavy weaning bull gained well over winter posting an impressive 1359 pound yearling weight. Backed by performance minded Epds, he offers added muscle producing potential while elevating end growth capabilities. His dam was bred in the good Pine Coulee herd in MT and has settled in as a strong contributor to our herd, ratioing 110 at weaning on her first four calves. This powerfully designed bull has performed with the best of our sale offering and is one of the stoutest, real impressive bulls visually.

The first of three Big Country bulls that are out of flush sisters by Foundation and Blossom 0278. Lot 31 is a legitimate herd bull candidate and one of the most complete bulls in the entire offering. As he has matured, he is one of the highest gaining, strongest performing bulls we are selling, recording a gain ratio of 124 and weighing in over 1300 pounds at a year. Ultrasounding like a herd bull, he ratioed 110 for marbling and scanned a 15 inch ribeye to ratio 106. Beyond all of his measured and genetic accolades, his dam thrusts him further into herd bull status. She is as elite of a female as we have on the ranch. Stellar in her design, she is quiet, long fronted, and opens up with an expansive outward shape to her rib, and she carries her extra depth deep into her rear flank. Standing on an excellent set of feet, her udder is strongly attached, with refined evenly spaced teats. Be sure to find Lot 31. The second in a pair of full brother in blood bulls by Big Country out of Foundation x Blossom daughters. This consistency of this mating is exciting and readily displayed as these three full brothers in blood - Lots 31,32 and 48 are all heavy muscled, high performing stout made individuals. When we began to use Big Country we thought he was a logical choice on our Foundation daughters and the resulting progeny of this genetic combination is everything we’d hoped for. Specifically, Lot 32 is a stud. Great structured, awesome phenotype, worlds of shape and expression and he is out of an absolute beauty of a cow. She is a wedge fronted, long necked cow that opens up through her chest and rib about as nicely as any female we have. A high indexing female, she only speeds up the excitement this good bull has.

S Elba 1004 Dam of Lot 33.

Really a neat pair of nearly identical phenotype bulls by Wrangler and donor dam Elba 1004. These two are built very similar, both displaying a really sound structural design, in combination with added muscle shape and dimension. Two of the highest $M bulls in the offering, they performed strong off of their recip dams and grew well to yearling time. The influence of their donor dam, Elba 1004, only continues to grow in our herd. She has an uncanny way of passing on her quiet disposition, and adding outward rib shape, body depth and overall mass to her progeny. A female that we are trying to keep flowing through our maternal pedigrees, she is still going strong at 13 years of age and a valued member of our donor roster. Her feet are perfect, and she shows no signs of slowing down. She has recorded a progeny marbling record of 94/102 and a progeny ribeye record of 94/102 also. If you are in need of a pair of high-quality bulls that should breed true and consistent, with bred in longevity and elite maternal producing values, it might be time to put these two in your pastures.

Just a heifer calf then, she has gone on to prove herself as an elite production female, passing on the same performance, body type and udder quality found in the members of the Blossom tribe. Averaging 79 pounds at birth on her progeny, she records a strong weaning ratio of 5/108 lifetime on her calves. After she entered into the Westar donor program, we wanted to tie into this great female as well and have on offer these two Big Country sons as well as her ET bull by Tahoe who sells as Lot 55. Lots 45 and 46 are high $M, strong performing bulls with a bright future ahead of them. Her production record is as solid as it gets and she also increases carcass merit in her progeny as she records progeny marbling and ribeye ratios of 4/127 and 4/102. The Duke cattle are useful, sensible cattle that cover the basics of beef production so well, and this good calf fits that mold to a tee. Suitable for heifers.

The only Growth Fund bred bull in our entire offering and what a calf he is. Lot 86 is one of the biggest middled, deepest flanked, widest based bull that we will walk across the screen on May 5th. A strong indexing bull, he ratioed 111 off his dam and grew fast to a year recording a 112 yearling ratio. This 143 marbling ratio bull’s dam came to us from our good friends the Hinksons in KS, and was a great purchase. A calm, moderate young female she is a Foundation derivative with a well attached small teated udder. Notice this bulls solid carcass Epds and +95 $M. He’s worth finding May 5th.

Really a complete, well put together son of Heritage in Lot 87. This 110 weaning ratio bull is a prime example of why we are using Heritage so hard in our breeding program. A good headed, clean fronted individual, he opens up nicely in his forerib, has added center body depth, and flank while presenting himself on plenty of bone and a right structure. His dam is a young Logo 12964 daughter and she is going to be a good one. Small teated, with a strong udder attachment she is built like one that will be here for years.

This Revolution son is a stud. Lot 88 is extremely cool in his build. A really stout boned, correct structured, good footed calf he carries himself around the pen with a confidence that further separates him from his pen mates. Coming at you, he has an expressive forearm, is wide down his top and has extra shape to his stifle and lower third of his rear quarter. A strong carcass indexing bull, he ratioed 123 for marbling and backs up all of his visual muscle with a 15.4 inch ribeye scan. His dam only furthers his excitement. A former 4-H project she is one of the biggest bodied, largest Coalition daughters we have. She is ratioing above average for all measured traits, and always stays in good flesh, even while bringing in a good calf year after year. This guy weighed 72 pounds at birth, I’ll let the buyer decide if he’s a heifer bull. Regardless, he is one of the neatest bulls in the entire offering.

He came off his dam with a solid 102 ratio, then gained 4.05 lbs/day post weaning to help achieve a 1324 yearling weight. He continued to set himself apart on ultrasound day scanning one of our largest ribeyes with a 16.3 inch to ratio 115. A strong Epd profile across all traits, he offers about the best combination of carcass Epds of any in this offering. His dam is a solid producing, nice uddered female with a quiet nature. Don’t miss this calf sale day. He’s going to really make a positive impact in someone’s calf crop.

fAbsolute stud. That’s the only way to describe Lot 121. He is a heavy boned, square hipped, wide pinned, big butted bull that will grab your attention in the pen. We didn’t capture him as well as we’d like in his photo. His video and in person will speak volumes for just how cool this calf is. His dam is a winner. Bred in the Vermilion herd she is direct daughter of “VRD” and balances an incredible amount of muscle yet is still very feminine and has a gorgeous udder.

Flush Brothers

Lot 122, 123

In our constant commitment of seeking out the best maternal genetics we can and stacking them readily into our program, we chose to flush S Queen Essa 7149 to Coleman Glacier 041. This genetic combination is an assembling of two really strong cow families, noted for their contributions of added maternal merit. We couldn’t be more pleased with the resulting ET calves from this mating. Lots 122 and 123 along with their full brothers, Lots 137 and 138 are about as consistent of 4 full brothers as we have had. Their genetic consistency in their phenotype further excites us as to the siring potential these four bulls will have. If you are in need of moderating a set of females, adding body depth and in one generation tidying up udder attachment and teat size these bulls will get the job done. They also exhibit enough raw muscle, body mass and overall size and power to still indicate they are highly relevant in the quest for marketing feeder calves that will greatly impact a ranch’s bottom line. Good bulls. Note their $M is over 100 on all four flush brothers.

From behind, they stand wide based, are expressive in their stifle and display the added muscle that their ribeye measurements back up. Ranking in the top 1% of the breed for $M, this pair of bulls stand near the entire top of our sale offering as elite female makers. Their pedigree combination of Glacier and Queen Essa 7149 has them royally stacked for generational maternal excellence and they should breed extremely true in stamping their daughters with excellent udders and teat size, all while still having the build to sire steers that will be highly sought after. He is one that is always easy to find in the pen, right in his structure and posted one of the highest gains post weaning of anybody in this entire offering. His sire hails from the Bar-E-L herd in Canada and is known for the front pasture females he produces. This, combined with the power of Lot 149’s donor dam and he is a sure bet to be an outcross female making machine whose sons will have the look and appeal that feeder buyers demand.

Over the years in our heifer division we have set a standard for ourselves to truly offer females that are “elite.” In doing so we let go of heifers that we really want to keep but excitedly offer them so they can go out and make a difference for others around the country. It has also long been our commitment to offer the leaders of our ET program. It is with that commitment and staying true to our decisions that a heifer like Lot 201 ends up in a production sale catalog. She is incredibly good and maybe as nice of a heifer as has ever worn one of our lot tags. A daughter of Big Country, she is a maternal sister to Armstrong and a flush sister to the elite herd bull prospect selling as Lot 10 in this sale. Carrying with her the influence of the Queen Essa tribe, she balances femininity, body, and muscle about as nicely as an Angus heifer can. So pleasant to view, she is a bold ribbed, square made female, who travels effortlessly on a really sound structural design. From her shoulders forward she contains an amount of class and prettiness not often found in females with her caliber of muscle and power. The backing of her donor dam, Queen Essa 7149 only furthers her usefulness as a potential high caliber breeding tool. 7149 is becoming the standard around here for udder quality and we see her teat size and attachment readily passed on through her son Armstrongs progeny. Lot 201 has the potential to make a herd changing impact wherever she ends up. From the pasture to the donor pen it will be a joy to see what she gets done. Future donor and big time opportunity to purchase one of our best ever.

Ever since forever this heifer has been a complete and total standout. We try to share the best of our best every year in this heifer division and in doing that a Big Country ET heifer like this finds her way into a sale catalog. A total power driven female, this good sized heifer has excelled her whole life. Recording large actual performance weights, she scanned with a solid 117 ratio for marbling and a large 13.2 inch ribeye to earn a 117 ratio. Numerically she offers a bold line-up of Epds strong across a multitude of traits only furthering her excellence as a future donor prospect. Backed by one of our best, her donor dam is member of the Queen Essa tribe and fast tracking her legacy as an elite producer. As she has matured the amount of middle and flank she has is unparalleled amongst most Angus females. She will continue to be a valued part of our donor rotation. Back to Lot 202. She is really good kind. Although she will mature with some added size, she is built in a way that handles extra frame work so well. Exceptionally big ribbed, and deep flanked, while gently blending worlds of muscle into her design, she still extends cleanly and attractively through her font end. Elite producing capabilities in this female and real donor caliber. Her impact will be fun to watch and even more fun to be a part of.

The first Armstrong daughter we are offering in this set of sale heifers and what a female she is. An incredible combination of power, performance, carcass merit, and maternal excellence she very deservingly gets to represent her female making sire as a standout daughter and feature in this offering. As the high indexing female of our 2024 heifer group, this 124 weaning ratio calf continued to grow well to a year earning a 116 ratio. On carcass ultrasound day her scan record continued to advance the excitement we hold for this great cow prospect. She scanned a 7.71 marbling score to ratio 164 while still posting an 11 inch ribeye to ratio 103. Beyond this she presents an Epd profile from birth to yearling to carcass that positions her with as much mating flexibility as any heifer in this entire offering. She didn’t ascend into this position of excellence by accident. Her dam is a good sized “316” daughter with a strong production record who traces back to an elite, big bodied Whitlock daughter who posts a 6/102 weaning ratio herself. This heifer contains a pedigree rich in influential sires in our program, a phenotype that readily advances her genetic excellence and dollar indexes of +96 for $M and +361 for $C. She is going to be a special female who will compliment a multitude of sires choices. Donor prospect.

The second Armstrong daughter we are offering and grab a hold of the rope. She is really a neat female with worlds of producing potential. Coming off her highly productive dam with a 110 ratio, she continued to perform to a year earning a 116 ratio for that measurement. She wasn’t done adding to her list of accomplishments as she scanned a 7.05 for marbling to ratio 150 and scanned a 12 inch ribeye to ratio 112. Beyond this she is a really good heifer visually. So balanced in her combination of muscle, length and body, she is really easy to like and stands out amongst her peers. Her dam is a daughter of our Vermilion Lass donor and an absolute gem of a female. Good sized as she has matured she posts a progeny record of 3/112 weaning, 3/108 yearling, 3/130 for marbling and 3/103 for ribeye. Currently she is nursing a Rapport bull calf that looks like he really wants to wear a low lot numbered ear tag in May of 2026. Since early last summer we have had this total standout heifer pegged as someone we could really feature in our sale offering. As we stay committed to offering “elite” heifers, Lot 205 embodies everything that entails. With a pedigree stacked with genetic merit she has done everything about as well as we could ask. Starting with a 119 weaning ratio, she came in with a 113 ratio at a year, indexed 143 for marbling and scanned a large 12.3 inch ribeye to ratio 115. Beyond all this she offers an impressive spread of birth to yearling Epds with carcass numbers that continue to offer mating flexibility. Another thing that separates this standout is the strength of her maternal lineage. A descendant of donor dam Elba 1004, her mother is a member of an elite trio of Tahoe sisters. Lot 205’s dam and her flush sisters all are high producing, small teated cows with incredible breeding power. I’d be sure to look this heifer over sale day – she contains an elevated level of genetic power along with phenotypic excellence that casts her out into an elite category of females that are not often offered for sale.

One of the absolute highlights of this sale offering and best heifer calves that was born at our ranch in 2024. This own granddaughter of the Erelite 109Z is flat good. So neatly balanced in her structure and design, she is an eye-appealing feminine made female who is always looking good. On the move she carries her added depth, muscle and power with ease. Sired by Armstrong, she has performed well at every measure, including carcass ratios of 105 for marbling and 104 for ribeye. Her young dam is an own daughter of 109Z out of a very competitive flush of Triumph heifers. Extra stout in her build, she has a nice udder and did a great job raising this elite heifer as her first calf. We can’t have every heifer sell first, and this +107 $M and +307 $C female is a leading candidate with the genetic, and phenotypic quality to easily have sold earlier. She would be a great breeding piece to invest into and bring the Erelite family into your program.

So reminiscent of the Elba family, she lives out her family expectations displaying tremendous openness through her chest, expressing extra outward rib shape and carrying her depth deeply and evenly into her rear flank. A strong performance ratioing female, she also scanned nearly a 12 inch ribeye to ratio 111 for muscle. Her dam is a member of an elite group of Resource full sisters by donor Elba 1004. A strong producing female, she is quiet, moderate framed, and going strong with great feet and a quality udder. The lead off Heritage daughter in our 2025 offering and she’s a really good one. Moderate in her build, this heifer has about as much depth of body and rear flank as any female we are offering. So angular and neat fronted, she opens up down her top with extra muscle shape and carries this throughout her rear quarter. Performing above average her whole life, she also gathered up carcass ratios of 121 and 108 for marbling and ribeye. Her dam is an elite member of the Elba tribe and a really nice young Coleman Triumph. Moderate in stature, she is really quiet, nice uddered, and stayed in good condition all summer long raising her first calf. The combination this Elba heifer calf has of Heritage and the strength of donor dam 1004 has her marked as an elite production oriented female. Note her +107 $M. Her Coalition sired dam stems from multi-generational cows for high quality, well attached udders. Our Heritage daughters are very nice uddered, small teated females with extra rib and mass.

The only daughter of Revolution in the sale and what a heifer she is. Big middled, deep flanked, square hipped and stout made are all terms that describe this brood cow prospect. Presenting elite Epds from calving ease to growth this high $M female presents a broad spectrum of mating possibilities. Her young dam is an easygoing daughter of the popular Genex sire Architect, who then traces back to the elite producing dam of Lot 211 who posts a progeny weaning ratio of 7/108. If the flush sisters to Revolution are any indication of his maternal capacity it makes owning a daughter of his well worth the effort. They are elite producing females, and his daughters will follow suit.

Lot 221

Just a sweetheart of a heifer wearing sale lot tag 221. Moderate framed, she is a pretty headed, deep chested, soft made heifer with plenty of muscle shape and expression. Quiet in her nature she stems from a Tahoe daughter who traces back to donor dam Gloria 0406. Our Tahoe females have far exceeded expectations for udder quality and production. This combined with the influence of U2 Erelite 109Z through this heifer’s sire further compounds her future success as an elite production female.
