Our programmes welcome Year 1 to Year 9 children from other schools across the local area and overseas, as well as existing Stephen Perse students. For families considering Stephen Perse for the next stage of their children's academic journey, our enrichment programmes offer a great insight into our values and ethos as a school. And for those joining us for the next academic year, the Summer Enrichment Programme in particular, will provide a wonderful setting for new students to familiarise themselves with our school environment and meet some of their peers before starting with us in September. This brochure contains key information about the Autumn Enrichment Programme, including details of the daily activity options and booking links.
In addition to choosing an activity stream, Years 1 to 6 will have a one hour recreational/fun-based session from 15:00 to 16:00. Activities include book club, Christmas puzzles, multi-sports, and daily quizzes amongst others, and pupils will have the opportunity to choose on the day.
Years 7 to 9 Students in Year 7 to 9 can choose from a range of half-day or full-day workshops across the week. A brief overview of the activities are contained in this brochure, to help students select the workshops that are of most interest. Activity Highlights Netball Academy (Years 4-6)
Hockey Coaching
Yuletide Yoga and Wellness
The Netball Academy is run as two full-day masterclasses. During these sessions, pupils will develop their technical, tactical, and physical netball skills. The Netball Academy is led by highly qualified netball coaches, including those working at county and elite club levels. This is a must for anyone keen to develop their netball knowledge and performance levels.
Cambridge City Junior Hockey Club will deliver hockey coaching at our Latham Road site. This is an excellent opportunity for pupils to enhance their hockey skills further.
Through practical activities, this workshop will introduce pupils to the concepts of health and wellness and will include yoga.
Trampoline Masterclass At their specialist centre, these half-day sessions will be delivered at the Cambridge Cangaroos trampoline club in Whittlesford. The session will be led by British Gymnastics qualified coaches and will cover a range of skills for all abilities. This session promises to be fun for novice and more experienced trampolinists.
Golf Masterclass This session will focus on introducing the game to those new to golf and also to help any more experienced players continue to fine-tune their technique. Equipment will be provided. However, pupils are welcome to bring their own clubs.
Multi-Sports In this session pupils will get the opportunity of playing a range of different team games, such as handball and dodgeball. Pupils will be challenged to consider the different tactical approaches for each game, and use these to their advantage in a competitive situation.
Touch Rugby Pupils in year groups 1-3 and 4-6 have the opportunity to develop their skills in the fast-paced game of touch rugby. We have enlisted some high-calibre RFU-qualified coaches from Shelford Rugby Club, who will deliver a highoctane session covering the skills and rules of the game. This is an excellent opportunity for pupils to experience a non-contact version of rugby.
Football Coaching FA-qualified coaches will lead the football session. The session aims to develop pupils’ confidence in a range of football-based skills, including passing, dribbling and shooting.

Winter Photography The photography workshops offer pupils the chance to develop their digital photography skills. Pupils will be guided through how to enhance the outcomes of their photographic shoots and upload their work at the end of the session.
Christmas Decorative Candle Making In this workshop, pupils can decorate a candle.
Musical Theatre – Winter’s Tale This workshop will introduce pupils to a story told through music and dance.
Christmas Embroidery This session enables pupils to learn about embroidery and produce a Christmas-themed piece.
Christmas Wreath Making Pupils can design and make their own Christmas wreath in this creative and hands-on workshop.
Beginner’s Sewing – Christmas Stockings
Basketball Bash
In this Beginner’s Sewing Workshop pupils will learn sewing skills to create a Christmas stocking.
This is an opportunity for pupils to get active and learn more about basketball, the session will introduce pupils to the major rules and skills of the game.
The sound of Christmas Singing Workshop This workshop will provide pupils with the opportunity to develop their vocal skills, through practising a range of Christmas themed songs and hymns.
Christmas Crochet Song Writing Workshop A chance for pupils to get creative musically, through writing and performing their own songs.
Decoupage Workshops Decoupage is a fun and creative crafting technique that involves decorating surfaces with multiple layers of paper (or even fabric).

In this creative workshop, pupils will be introduced to the art of Crochet. They will learn the key techniques required, and produce their very own Christmas themed items.
Drum Up the Beat – African Drumming A chance to make some noise, with a high-energy African Drumming Workshop.

Years 1 to 6
Young Eco Club This session will introduce pupils to various eco-themed topics, which are an important part of modern society. Areas could include discussing biodiversity, energy, healthy living, litter or marine ecosystems. An important session for pupils to understand their role in the health of the wider world.
Winter Forest Adventure This workshop will use our Forest School facility and provide pupils with a fantastic experience of a range of outdoor practical skills.
Festive Creative Writing Workshops A wonderful range of creative writing workshops to encourage children to dive deep into their imagination and express themselves through poems, stories and journal writing. Children will have the opportunity to work on their own pieces, as well as working collaboratively with their peers.
Magical Mystery Pupils will create a story based on a mystery, a ‘whodunit’, or a treasure hunt for others to try and solve.
Elf ’s Kitchen Christmas Baking The Elf’s Kitchen Christmas Baking session will be delivered by qualified members of our catering team and will introduce pupils to Christmas baking.
Christmas Around the World: France This workshop will introduce pupils to French culture, including their customs, Christmas traditions as well as exploring the French language.

Charity Challenge – Planning Phase (Years 4-6) In the planning phase of the Charity Challenge, pupils will work alongside staff to discuss a local charity and learn more about their work. The pupils will then be tasked to design and plan various fundraising activities that can be completed either at home or as part of the Charity Challenge Action Phase for those attending on the Friday (please see below).
Charity Challenge Action Phase (Years 4-6) Following the planning phase, the action phase will take place on Friday afternoon at the end of the Autumn Enrichment Programme. All pupils will participate in the charity activities designed by pupils earlier in the week. Any pupil not attending Friday’s programme can still fundraise and complete the ‘remote’ activities. It should be a fun and rewarding end to the week.

Years 7 to 9
Activity Highlights Decoupage Workshops (Years 7-9) Funk it Up – Theatrical Dance Workshops (Years 7-9) Decoupage is a fun and creative crafting technique that involves decorating surfaces with multiple layers of paper (or even fabric). It’s a bit like collaging, but with more finesse and the possibilities are endless. These workshops will provide students with the chance to create gifts to share at Christmas, design and make fantastic centrepieces for the Christmas table, and even allow students to bring in their own items to upcycle and refresh.
In this fun and funky theatrical dance class, students will practise their leaps, spins, kicks, jumps, and other moves in a high-energy, creative dance session. They will learn a contemporary dance routine accompanied by modern, upbeat music. This session should be a hive of activity and fun for our creative dancers.
Netball Academy (Years 7-13)
The Christmas Cookery School sessions will be delivered by qualified members of our catering team, and will introduce students to the key cooking methods and recipes for a range of Christmas food items.

Big Bash Basketball! (Years 7-9) In this session, students will learn to develop some of the major basketball skills, including passing, dribbling and shooting. Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to apply basketballspecific tactics within game situations to try and outperform their opponents. Finally, students will have the chance to put their new skills to the test through a series of matches in a ‘Big Bash’ tournament to end proceedings.
