“YOUR STORY IS OUR STORY”
Fellow SPE members, summer is almost here, and we are officially about to put another successful term in the books! This wouldn’t have been possible without our community of members and fantas c team of SPE Permian Basin Board of Directors (Pg.27). In the 78 years of being a local sec on in the Permian, we have strived to become an organiza on where members share knowledge, connect with others in their disciplines, and support and recognize each other’s achievements in the industry.
As we are about to turn the page and gear up for next term, I would like to take a moment to look back on all that has been this term. Our shared experiences on several community services to help and support local organiza ons, our experiences on technical knowledge through our mee ngs on various technical disciplines to enhance our prac ces and shape outlooks in the Permian Basin; our role of inves ng in the future by par cipa ng in our fundraisers to help students in the Permian through scholarships and to be able to share our experiences to help transform the next genera on of leaders in the industry by guiding our Young Professionals.
Because of your support, our sec on was able to raise a significant amount of funds and provide it back to the students in the Basin in the form of scholarships – our sec on’s highest scholarship amount distributed ever - $112,000! We were able to conduct Energy4Me and STEM events throughout the term and were able to reach out to over 300 high school students in the community. We conducted Diversity & Inclusion events while partnering with other local organiza ons. And most importantly were able to share technical exper se through our sec on mee ngs, discipline focused study group luncheons, and symposiums to con nue to enrich each other on best prac ces in the industry.
