This series depicts children living in their own worlds. Not typically worried about how they are looking or acting, kids seem to have an innate sense of doing what they want, when they want. I envy being able to truly be myself and feel everything as deeply as I felt as a child.
This project was a way for me to explore these emotions.

Caleb Whelan, born in 2004, is an American photographer, videographer and musician.
Historically focused on live events and sports photography, this was his first long term documentary project. With a past of caregiving, refereeing childrens sports, and a newfound appreciation for the liveliness of Paris streets, children like a seemed clear subject. Photographing this required immense time and documentation in 2 different countries. 24 rolls of 120 film were used for his Fuji GW690III and 8 rolls of 35mm film were used for his Canon AE-1. Developing all films at Atelier des Lumieres Paris was essential for keeping continuity throughout the project.
