The Waves

“Mountains are waves, slow-moving through the long process of geology.”
–John McPhee, Annals of the Former World
The mountains are the waves of the earth, slowly carved through eons of geology, rising and falling like the tides of an invisible sea. Through the lens, I try to capture the timeless beauty of these majestic peaks and the fleeting moments of life that dance in their shadows. As I traverse the valleys and cross over the ridges, reaching the boundless ocean, the ever-changing nature of the waves and the relentless passage of time leave me awestruck. Memories, like waves, wash over us, sometimes gentle and rhythmic, other times wild and turbulent. And yet, amidst the ebb and flow of existence, there remains a sense of constancy, a connection to the earth and our roots that endure, standing as silent sentinels of the past, present, and future, carrying us through the sea of life, as we navigate the currents of joy and sorrow, hope and despair, love and loss.
