Steve has endured years of engineer jokes and has somehow managed to develop a personality fuelled by a deep interest in cars, sailing and some of the finer things in life.

DAY 1 HALIFAX - The capital of Nova Scotia.

Accommodation: Sutton Place Hotel Arrive in Halifax prior to beginning your DreamDrive tour. There is so much to see and do in this vibrant city! Take a stroll along Halifax’s waterfront, 1 of the world’s longest downtown boardwalks. End at the timber-frame & stone warehouses of Historic Properties, originally built to safeguard booty captured by legalized pirates called privateers, and grab a spot on one of many patios or find a spot inside a pub to take in live local music. In the evening get acquainted with Dream Drive staff and fellow guests during a welcome reception.

DAY 2 LIGHTHOUSE ROUTE

Starting Location: Halifax Finish Location: Liverpool Accommodation: Quarterdeck Resort Distance: 296km (4 driving hours) Begin by driving through the scenic South Shore along the Lighthouse Route to the iconic Peggy’s Cove, followed by a winding seaside drive around the Aspotogan Peninsula, through the picturesque towns of Chester and Mahone Bay with lunch in Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home port of the famous schooner Bluenose. Continue on past some of Nova Scotia’s most beautiful beaches and spend the evening at the Quarterdeck Resort on Summerville beach, one of Nova Scotia’s longest white sand beaches.

DAY 3 FUNDY ROUTE

Starting Location: Liverpool Finish Location: Wolfville Accommodation: 470 Main Street Distance: 323 km (4 driving hours) Drive through the centre of the province past Kejimkujik National Park towards the Bay of Fundy, on a sparsely populated road where it will be just you and your car. Dine at The Pines Resort near the town of Digby, known for its world famous scallops. Enjoy the transition to the orchards and open roads of the Annapolis Valley before stopping in the working fishing village of Halls Harbour. Drive on to Wolfville, a lively university town surrounded by some of the best vineyards in the province. Tour wineries and dine at the award winning Lightfoot & Wolfville winery before retiring for the evening at 470 Main, a modern, boutique hotel.

DAY 4 GLOOSCAP TRAIL

Starting Location: Wolfville Finish Location: Fox Harbour Accommodation: Fox Harb’r Distance: 270km (3.5 driving hours Drive the Evangeline and Glooscap Scenic Routes towards Fox Harbour and the Northumberland Strait. Visit Burncoat Head Park, home of the highest tides in the world, and experience the unique red sandstone landscape. Fox Harb’r offers a variety of experiences -- from driving your car at top speed on the private runway to skeet shooting, golf and spa. Jost Vineyards, the longest operating and largest winery in Nova Scotia will host lunch. The luxurious oceanside Fox Harb’r Resort boasts Atlantic Canada’s first Ocean Wise™ recognized sustainable seafood restaurant.

DAY 5 SUNRISE TRAIL

Starting Location: Fox Harbour Finish Location: Inverness Accommodation: Cabot Cape Breton Resort Distance: 342km (4 driving hours) Experience the Sunrise Trail’s sandy shores, bright red bluffs and tidal salt marshes en route to the stunning Cape George loop. Stop at the Main Street Cafe, one of the best restaurants in the Antigonish area. Continue along the northern coastline of the province to Inverness, the location of Cabot Cliffs and Cabot Links, #1 and #3 ranked courses in Canada. Stunning views complement luxury accommodations and a unique dining experience at Cabot Cape Breton Resort.

DAY 6 CABOT TRAIL

Starting Location: Inverness Finish Location: Baddeck Accommodation: Inverary Resort Distance: 377km (5 driving hours) Begin the flagship drive of the world famous Cabot Trail where the mountains meet the sea and wind through breathtaking views unique to Nova Scotia. Ranked by virtually every website and magazine as one of the top places to visit in the world, the twists, turns, and elevations challenge even the most experienced drivers. Enjoy lunch at the Keltic Lodge in the Cape Breton Highlands and wind down at the Inverary Resort with live local music, fine dining and a spectacular view of the Bras D’Or Lakes.

DAY 7 RETURN

Starting Location: Baddeck Finish Location: Halifax or Home Accommodation: Sutton Place Distance: 364km (4 driving hours) Embark on the final leg back to Halifax or peel off and head home to parts West. We will head westward back toward the mainland and over the Canso Causeway and then rejoin the picturesque Sunrise Trail with its rolling farmlands to New Glasgow for lunch. From this point those wishing to head homeward will depart here. Those continuing will enjoy a road less travelled with rural sweepers on our way back to Halifax arriving mid-afternoon.
