SpecStudio is an independent UK-based specification writing practice delivering specifications for architectural and design practices worldwide Combining experience and expertise with a passion for technology, what was once an analogue service is now fully digital With our extensive industry experience we have successfully worked on projects across various sectors worldwide

Led by three ex colleagues, Matt Fox, Craig Brown and Richard Jackson, SpecStudio uses the latest technology to deliver ' proper ' Specification Consulting services as a true independent practice that puts its Clients' needs first

Together these three individuals brought a tapestry of expertise to SpecStudio Each member of the team had a unique background, complementing one another and contributing valuable insights The fusion of their skills created a powerhouse of competence that could tackle any challenge thrown their way

The vision is now shared by a team of dedicated professionals an international network of people from different backgrounds, including architecture, architectural technology and construction

Our experts can build your office masters for you compiled from a mix of your own experience combined with our industry leading knowledge and content These are then yours to own and use on your projects moving forward These specifications can be tailored to specific needs of your practice and be linked to in-house BIM objects streamlining the process for future projects f you then need help delivering the project specifications, we can be on hand as your dedicated resource when required, or help maintain it for future robustness

Does SpecStudio design? Is it spec-writing only?

We are not Architects or designers At SpecStudio we focus solely on all things Specifications We are dedicated experts in our field that allows us to provide consistently high quality services to our clients

Does SpecStudio hold PI?

As a sub-consultant to Architects and designers it is our professional responsibility to hold PI We carry varying cover levels depending on our scope and the value of the project

What format of specifications does SpecStudio provide?

The team can provide specifications in CAWS, Uniclass 2015 CSI MasterFormat and Outline formats using our own software and bespoke specification masters

When would be the best time to involve SpecStudio?

Specifications can be provided during RIBA Design Stages 2 3 and 4 t is advisable to involve SpecStudio as early as possible so that the specification can be developed alongisde the design

How does SpecStudio link with BIM?

Via tailored keynote files that are uploaded into the model to link the spec clauses/ codes with model elements The team can work closely with your in-house BM co-ordinator and support you with your BIM journey
