SPG’s Summer Town Hall Meeting Recap During the Summer Town Hall, Chris Treanor shared SPG’s vision for 2030 and the work underway to build a business that can continue to grow at scale. That means investing in our people, expanding our capabilities, giving teams better tools to work smarter and bringing the full strength of SPG together to solve problems for our customers. The session also included updates on SPG Marketplace, cross-sell opportunities and resources such as the SPG Broker Guide and SPG Connect video library. We celebrated team accomplishments and welcomed Dennis Kane for our latest Division Leader Spotlight. There is a lot to be proud of and even more opportunity ahead.

About SPG’s Town Hall Meeting SPG’s Town Hall is a quarterly event designed to bring the entire Specialty Program Group community together. Each session offers a platform for open communication and provides valuable updates from leadership. These meetings feature a "State of the State" address by CEO Chris Treanor, key company updates, and success stories from across our organization. The Town Hall also includes a Q&A segment, allowing team members to have their questions addressed. These gatherings aim to keep everyone informed, engaged, and aligned with our goals, fostering a strong and inclusive culture at SPG.

Announcements The Bet That Helped Shape an Industry Celebrating Scott Hendricks’ career, leadership and lasting impact on SPG Transportation When Scott Hendricks left a leadership position at Great American to join a small managing general agency, many of his colleagues thought he was making a mistake. Scott saw something different. He believed the MGA model could bring specialized expertise, disciplined underwriting and stronger relationships closer to the brokers and clients who needed them. That decision became one of the defining moments of a career spanning more than three decades in transportation insurance. Scott began his career by opening a retail agency and finding a niche in trucking. At Great American, he transformed its transportation division by moving away from a wholesaler-driven model and building a focused network of retail agency relationships serving owner-operators. The approach produced meaningful growth and strong underwriting results, a model he later carried forward at Avant. Scott’s career was also defined by his belief that people build businesses through relationships. While at Great American, he learned that HUB was acquiring several of the retail agencies in his network. Scott worked his way through the organization and secured a face-to-face meeting with then-HUB CEO Rick Gulliver. They immediately connected, beginning a relationship that generated years of growth and ultimately helped bring Avant into the HUB and SPG family. When Scott joined SPG, he arrived with an ambitious goal: bring PHP and Avant together and build the country’s leading transportation insurance platform. Since 2020, he has helped turn that vision into SPG Transportation. Scott will retire on September 1, 2026, but the business, relationships and leaders he helped develop will continue moving his vision forward. "Scott's belief in the 'Franchise Value of Appointment' was more than just a mantra — it was a philosophy that shaped everything Avant stood for. He understood that the retail agent isn't just a channel; they're the heartbeat of the distribution model. That conviction wasn't something Scott simply talked about — it was something he lived, and it made all the difference. Watching that legacy carry forward through SPG Transportation is a testament to the kind of leader he was. Scott didn't just build a successful company; he built a culture, a standard, and a way of thinking that outlasts any tenure. It's been an honor, and I couldn't be prouder to see his fingerprints on what comes next," noted Tim Clinton, President of SPG Mainstreet. “Scott has helped to define what leadership looks like in our industry,” said Clayton Cavell, President of SPG Transportation. “I am incredibly fortunate to have him as my mentor, and I am proud to call him my friend.” Clayton will continue serving as President of SPG Transportation and assume expanded leadership responsibilities. For employees, brokers and partners, the organization’s commitment remains unchanged: deliver at the highest level as a premier underwriter of specialized transportation insurance products. Please join us in thanking Scott for his leadership and congratulating him on an extraordinary career.

Turning Miles into Meals $28,000 RAISED. ONE SHARED PURPOSE. STRONGER TOGETHER. This year, the SPG team once again participated in the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon and Rosé 5K in support of Move For Hunger. Together, SPG Transportation, Specialty Program Group, AmTrust, Gen Re, and brokers and partners across the insurance industry raised an incredible $28,000 to help fight hunger and reduce food waste. Justin Bove Invited to Present at the SPARK Institute Advisory Board Meeting Justin Bove, Chief Revenue Officer at Encore, was invited by the SPARK Institute to present at their quarterly Advisory Board Meeting on how fiduciary litigation has impacted retirement plans and their sponsors. SPARK — the Society of Professional Asset Managers and Recordkeepers — is widely considered one of the most effective advocacy organizations in the country for the retirement plan industry. The opportunity placed Justin in front of influential advisors and political insiders who could help push for legal reform benefiting both the industry and policyholders.

Denise Smith Named Employee of the Year and Promoted to Executive Sales Producer Denise Smith was awarded Insureon's Employee of the Year for 2025 and promoted to Executive Sales Producer in March. As team lead and liaison for CM&F for the past two years, she has converted roughly 60% of CM&F's warm transfers into the Insureon agency. Under her leadership, CM&F premium is up 54% and policy count is up 75% year over year. Denise has exceeded her new business goal six years running — a role model to new producers and a trusted voice to seasoned ones, leading with grace and humility.
