Thank you so much for ordering a copy of the Arblaster & Clarke 2018 programme. As I write this, I’m sipping a glass of lovely New Zealand Pinot Noir from Gibbston Valley in Central Otago. What makes the wine special to me is not only the lashings of red fruit and delicate aromatic notes, but - crucially - the memories I have of drinking this wine on my honeymoon, overlooking the untamed beauty of New Zealand’s lakes.

At Arblaster & Clarke, we are unashamedly proud of our passion for wine, our fantastic relationships with winemakers all over the world, and our remarkable wine experts. However, we are not simply about just tasting wine, we are about giving you - our guests - the chance to experience new cultures, history, beautiful landscapes, and fellowship with our tours.

Small groups Our groups are small enough to feel intimate, but large enough to ensure a variety of wonderful characters. The maximum size - excluding our Champagne tour - is 25, with the average number of passengers around 16.

Perfect pairings Delicious wine and fabulous food make excellent bedfellows, each bringing out the best in the other. In light of this, we have crafted these tours to include the best local cuisine of each region we visit, with the menus for every single meal closely considered. We also hand-pick our hotels and our accommodation is both characterful and often family run.

While most of our hotels are 4*, we also include many 5* hotels and the occasional excellent 3*.

A wine education specialist, Vicky became a Master of Wine in 2015, specialising in the sensory perception of sparkling wines.

After passing the Master of Wine examination in 1996, she then collected the Villa Maria Viticulture Award.

She has led many of our tours.

Conal Gregory MW Formerly a presenter of ITV’s ‘The Food Programme’, Conal is a Master of Wine and has written a number of fascinating books.

Sarah Ahmed A former lawyer, Sarah made the career switch after being inspired by a wine-tasting course. She also publishes The Wine Detective website.

An award-winning wine writer, Andrew has a fantastic Monday column on Decanter’s website and lives in Montpellier, France.

A lecturer on the wines of Europe and an expert on those from Italy and Spain, she has an art history degree and is a seasoned wine guide.

A published writer since 2002, Adrian is Chair of Judges at the World Beer Awards. He is also a freelance journalist and beer expert.

Once an opera singer, Charles is now co-Chairman of the International Wine Challenge and a wine broadcaster, who is also known to sing on tour!

She has been escorting our wine tours to Italy for almost 20 years and is a founding member of Slow Food Ireland as well as a public speaker.

he story of South African wine begins in 1659. This is the year that vines were first planted in Constantia, just outside of coastal Cape Town.

Over three centuries of winemaking later, the country’s Old World knowledge has been augmented by its New World experience and it’s safe to say a renaissance is well underway. Today’s top South African vintners are not only innovative and forward-thinking, they are also wholly attuned to the country’s natural landscape. Many producers now focus on minimal intervention, studying the versatility of their land to maximise yield and flavour.

Nicola ArcedeckneButler MW

Starting her wine trade career in 1987 at Majestic Wine Warehouses, Nicola then moved to Corney & Barrow and passed the Master of Wine examination in 1996, collecting the Villa Maria Viticulture Award along the way.

She is now the Director of Buying for Private Cellar and specialises in French, Italian and South African wine. Nicola has led numerous tours for us in the past.

South Africa

Itinerary Day 1 & 2 We fly from London and arrive into Cape Town on day two.

Our tour begins in style at Buitenverwachting. A stunning farm frames this estate, revered for its reds, Muscat dessert wines and Sauvignon Blanc. After a tasting, we enjoy an on-site dinner overlooking part of the stunning Table Mountain range.

Day 3 We begin at the environmentally conscious, award-winning Villiera Wines. Specialising in Cap Classique sparkling wines, the estate is connected to a wildlife sanctuary, which we visit from their private entrance. After lunch, we go to Riebeek, one of South Africa’s oldest towns, and enjoy some free time.

Day 4 Today we visit two prominent Riebeek area winemakers where we sample their delicious vintages while learning about their vineyards, history and production methods. Our touring will end with a fantastic sit-down meal at our hotel.

Day 5 This morning starts with a visit to the Vondeling estate.

Situated on the slopes of the Paardeberg mountain, this winery exercises a three-centuries-old winemaking tradition and its Shiraz is particularly renowned. Later, there is free time to wander around Reibeek-Kasteel.

Day 6 Start the day at the wonderful David & Nadia Wines. Discover more about their minimal intervention approach as well as their focus on bush vines and different soil types. We then head to the charming town of Montagu, where we have dinner.

Day 7 Graham Beck Wines opens its doors to us this morning and we sample its newly launched rosé along with two premium

Chenins. Then, we tour Excelsior Estate, home to 220 hectares and known for producing noble varieties, where there are also smaller plantings of Petit Verdot and Viognier for blending.

Day 8 In Hermanus, we have a private tour of the Hamilton Russell Vineyards with Anthony Hamilton Russell himself. This is followed by lunch as special guests of the winery, served on the veranda of his beautiful home. Later, it’s on to Stellenbosch.

Day 9 Find out why ecology and respect for the land is so important at Reyneke, which was among the first to be registered as biodynamic, this morning. We also visit Waterford, a state-ofthe-art winery, before a barbecue and tasting at Kanonkop.

Day 10 We visit Meerlist, a benchmark of quality in the South African wine world, and sample its vintages. We also explore its fabulous estate, cellar and bird sanctuary. Next, it’s on to Jordan Vineyards and then tonight we join for dinner together.

Day 11 & 12 We pay a visit to the boutique winery, Keermont. Its vineyards’ characteristics come across in the wines produced here and we enjoy a tasting before beginning our long journey home.

Wines South Africa, considered the oldest New World country, is home to incredible terroir along with passionate growers, making it a powerful player in the world of wine.

With the pop of every champagne cork, we invite a little joie de vivre into our lives and our tour really embodies this spirit. Paris in the spring just can’t compete with Reims at this glorious time of year...

Itinerary Day 1 We will depart for France via the Eurotunnel and on the way we can relax and enjoy the scenery while tea and coffee are served. Upon arrival, we check in to our hotel where we will be treated to a welcome wine tasting. During this session, our esteemed Wine Guide will present the dazzling region of Champagne and the wines that elevate it year after year. The evening will be spent at leisure although you could choose to join our on-tour team at a local restaurant.

Day 2 The first visit of our tour, which follows breakfast with champagne, takes us to the aptly named Grand Cru region of Bouzy and to Champagne Edmond Barnaut.

This family-run domaine has been passed down for five generations and the Bouzy Rouge produced here - famous for good reason - is quite unlike any other champagne we’ve ever tasted. There will be free time over lunch in Reims and then we will make our way to the legendary Taittinger, where we discover its iconic chalk cellars. We will enjoy more free time this evening to explore the town and perhaps seek out local cuisine, do some shopping or just take in the ambience.

Day 3 Another champagne breakfast rings in our final day. Afterwards, we pay a visit to the family-owned Champagne R.H. Coutier, which is an exceptional Chardonnay producer in a Pinot Noir-dominated region - namely the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay. Here, we taste the wines it is known for and find out more about the magic of its Grand Cru bubbly before moving on to Champagne Philipponnat.

With history spanning almost 500 years, this family-run domaine indulges us in its expertise with tastings of intense wines and a delicious lunch. We end this whirlwind tour on a high and from here, we head back to the Eurotunnel where we say our goodbyes and travel home.

Nothing evokes the spirit of the festive season like uncorking a bottle of your favourite bubbly - why not celebrate the holidays with a whirlwind weekend of indulgence in the Champagne region?

Itinerary Day 1 We welcome in the first day of our very special festive tour as soon as we arrive in beautiful, historic Reims with a sumptuous champagne tasting at our hotel.

Later, our revered Wine Guide presents the region of Champagne in all its glory.

Day 2 The passion of the fifth generation producers at Champagne Marguet Père & Fils can be found in every glass, but don’t just take our word for it... taste it for yourself today. This first stop, which follows a champagne breakfast, is a revered Grand Cru house and it will allow us to sample wines produced as a result of biodynamic farming. Afterwards, we make our way to the superb Champagne Jean Milan, where we can sip the finest offerings of the famous Côte des Blancs region. Located in Oger and classified Grand Cru, this prestigious estate has been home to five generations of vine growers and is known for its elegant, delicate champagnes. There will be free time this evening to explore the local area, do a little shopping or perhaps continue the theme of the weekend and sample more wines at local bars or bistros.

Day 3 Our fabulous weekend tour ends with another delicious champagne breakfast and then on a ‘Bouzy’ note at Edmond Barnaut’s regional house. Pinot Noir makes up a solid 80% of Barnaut’s production, with Chardonnay accounting for the rest. After a tour and tasting session, we make our way to Taittinger and visit its breathtaking Château de la Marquetterie, nestled in the heart of the Champenois Vineyards. Don’t forget to stock up on bottles for your own Christmas and New Year’s celebrations before we leave! From here, we take a coach back to Calais and make our Eurotunnel crossing back to Folkestone, where we say goodbye to the group and travel home.

Conal Gregory MW A Master of Wine, Conal is the former chief wine buyer for a major group.

He is now the Panel Chairman of the International Wine Challenge and formerly worked as the wine presenter on ITV for its much loved, ‘The Food Programme’.

NEW SWITZERLAND & BURGUNDY 15th - 21st April | £3,295 inc. flights

Explore two wildly different, yet neighbouring wine regions. From Burgundy’s world-class wines to lesser-known Swiss varietals, of which less than 2% are exported, this is an indulgent introduction.

Itinerary Day 1 Arrive in Geneva and enjoy lunch along with a tasting hosted by our expert Wine Guide. Later, we travel to Vevey at the foot of the Alps, and have a light dinner.

Day 2 Visit Domaine Bovy, where the wines are masterful expressions of the Chasselas variety. Back in Vevey, we enjoy a chocolate making workshop at Confiserie Poyet.

Day 3 In the Valais region, we visit Domaine René Favre. Then, we visit Jean René Germanier for a tasting and traditional alpine lunch. Later, we have free time.

Day 4 Enjoy views across Lake Geneva as we cruise by on a paddle-steamer. We stop at the magnificent Chillon Castle and have dinner at a prominent local restaurant.

Day 5 As we travel to Jura this morning, we sample its wines on the bus. Upon arrival at Domaine Jean Bourdy, we are welcomed with a special tasting and lunch.

Day 6 Today we have private tastings at Maison J.C. Boisset, to sample both Grand and Premier Cru wines, and Domaine d’Ardhuy. Later, there is free time in Beaune.

Day 7 Before we fly home, we have a relaxed morning that ends with a visit to Domaine Prieur-Brunet. Then, we stop for lunch at Le Terroir and return to the airport.

Indulge in the rarely experienced privilege of tasting barely exported Swiss wine... unless you’re Swiss, of course! Compare these two regions through a range of varied and interesting tastings.

This glorious region is home to horticultural sites, historic villas and vineyards that produce classic Chiantis - we take it all in on this tour. Unique accommodation, local gastronomy & wine await...

Itinerary Day 1 Upon arrival in Pisa, we transfer to Radda-in-Chianti in central Tuscany where we check into our hotel. Later, we visit Terrabianca and after a vertical tasting of their flagship wine, we enjoy a Tuscan dinner at the estate.

Day 2 A visit to Villa Cetinale and its incredible gardens starts our day. Next, we have a cookery lesson in traditional Tuscan dishes, which we pair with locally produced wines for lunch. The rest of the day will be spent at leisure enjoying the area.

Day 3 The Castello di Brolio wine estate opens its doors to us this morning and then we visit a breathtaking Tuscan estate - Badia a Coltibuono. Sample its delicious wines over lunch in the osteria followed by a tour. Dinner is at Castellare di Castellina.

Day 4 We head north towards Florence and visit the Giardino Capponi. Later, we tour the estate of Selvapiana in the Chianti Rufina zone. Here, we taste Bucerchiale and the Fornace vintage over lunch. Next, we tour the glorious gardens at Fonterutoli.

Tom Bruce-Gardyne For more than 20 years, he has written specifically about the drinks industry - wine and whisky in particular. Tom has written for a number of well-respected publications and has both written and co-authored 3 books on whisky.

Day 5 The day begins at one of Tuscany’s oldest farming estates, Vignamaggio.

After a tour, we are treated to a tasting of its amazing wines. Later, we visit Villa Gamberaia and then we dine at the Osteria di Fonterutoli, where the chef puts a modern twist on traditional Tuscan dishes and perfectly pairs them with wine.

Day 6 Today we return to Pisa, where we say our goodbyes and travel home.

Not only is Tuscany a truly fabulous wine region, it is also home to some of the most spectacularly manicured gardens, which are tended to alongside its glorious vines.

Day 6 A lecture enlightens us on Churchill’s visit to the Second World War front line, before lunch at le Fôret Joli and a sabrage demonstration at Canard-Duchêne.

Day 7 We leave beautiful France behind and return to London.

Itinerary Day 1 We arrive into Venice in the afternoon and transfer to our hotel, the Villa Contarini Nenzi. Here, we are treated to a welcome tasting where the wines of this wonderful region are presented. Tonight’s dinner isn’t included, but we will arrange transport to nearby Treviso for you to take advantage of its range of authentic Italian restaurants and bistros.

Day 2 In the heart of the Prosecco region, at the foot of the finest DOCG hills in Valdobbiadene, Villa Sandi awaits. Taste proseccos that range from its Il Fresco Rosé all the way to its exceptional DOCG Superiorae Cartizze La Rivetta.

From here, we travel to our next stop, the beautiful town of Valdobbiadene.

We walk through the Parco della Filandetta until we arrive at Bortolomiol’s winery, where we sit down to lunch and enjoy a tasting of its prosecco wines.

During this, the history of Bortolomiol is brought to life and we learn about the incredible humanitarian work this producer carries out. We then venture along the beautiful Strada di Prosecco to Carpenè Malvolti, a wonderful family-owned winery whose very own Carpenè himself - along with Angelo Malvolti - can be credited with helping pioneer the Charmat method, which creates the prosecco we know and love today. Itinerary Day 1 We arrive in Lisbon and are treated to a welcome lunch in the private dining room of a local restaurant. We meet our Wine Guide and tour managers, and then we board our yacht. Later, we have dinner paired with Portuguese wine and port.

Day 2 Quinta dos Vales, an open-air gallery boasting some of the Algarve’s best wines, opens especially for us. Lunch is on the boat and then we visit Silves, a traditional Portuguese town with ancient foundations. We then sample port on the yacht.

Day 3 A coach takes us to Bollullos Par del Condado today, a village revered for its local cuisine and wine. We sample produce and return to the yacht for a special lunch. A noted Jabugo Jamón producer presents a leg of ham to be carved and tasted alongside wonderful Spanish wines. This culinary experience is a unique treat. Free time and dinner back on board follows.

Day 4 Explore Sanlucar de Barrameda, a seaside town in the ‘sherry triangle’. We taste sherries aged up to 120 years at Bodegas Barbadillo. Lunch is at one of our favourites, Bodegas Hidalgo, which produces the best-selling Manzanilla in the world.

Day 5 The city of Jerez is ours to explore and a guided tour introduces us to its sights and showcases this area’s clear love of wine.

There will be a fantastic tapas lunch at a nearby seafood restaurant, where our wine guide pairs wines and sherries with the dishes we enjoy. Next, we visit the exclusive Lustau, a multi award-winning Bodega of premium quality where we indulge in comparative tastings. Then, we board the yacht, sailing past the Rock of Gibraltar and pausing to toast the Queen’s birthday with an English sparkling wine tasting.

Day 6 Ronda, a true bucket-list destination, is our first stop. Here, we accept an invite to taste biodynamic Friedrich Schatz wines with the man himself. Day 1 We arrive and sit down to a wonderful welcome dinner at Au Clos Napoléon before checking into our hotel, which is an old wine house in the heart of the Burgundy vineyards.

Day 2 Our day begins with our first walk, from our hotel to the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, where we visit Domaine Alain Jeanniard. Relatively undiscovered as of yet, this estate produces wines of outstanding quality and value, and here we will enjoy a tasting and tour. Later, we find a picturesque spot for a picnic lunch accompanied by a sumptuous glass of Burgundy. We walk through vineyards to the village of GevreyChambertin, where we visit Domaine Pierre Bourée. After tastings and talks, we return to our hotel.

Approximate miles walking: 7 Day 3 After breakfast, we head to Château du Clos de Vougeot.

Formerly the medieval winery of the Citeaux monastery, vats and magnificent old presses can still be seen here and it is now the headquarters of the Chevaliers de Tastevin. Following another picnic lunch, we enjoy a short walk to the famous vineyards of Romanée Conti and Richebourge, and then on to Nuits-St-Georges through the Premiers Cru of Les Boudots and Les Murgers to reach Maison Louis Max. Its vineyards cover a large range, from regional appellations to Grand Cru covering the entire Burgundy region. Once we’ve finished our indulgent tasting, our bus transfer takes us to the centre of Beaune to check into our hotel. The rest of the evening will be free.

Approximate miles walking: 5.5 Day 4 Today we explore the beautiful, picture-perfect walled town of Beaune at leisure. Our winery visit isn’t until the afternoon, so there will be time to discover the local flavour through the town’s gastronomy, charming streets, and shops. Full of art and surrounded by old ramparts, this area is filled with delicatessens, museums housed in 14th century buildings and a number of négociant houses. You could even make a stop at Moutarderie Fallot, where you can blend your very own mustard! After lunch, we walk to Meursault. Our visit this afternoon is to the Caves Ropiteau Frères, whose cellars date back to the 15th and 16th centuries and are among the most prestigious in Burgundy. This is one of the biggest producers of oak-matured white wine in Burgundy. Tonight there will be more free time to get to know this area.

Its 13 hectares of vineyards are known for their Premier and Grand Cru status. Tonight we enjoy a glorious farewell meal.

Itinerary Day 1 Today we arrive into the vibrant metropolis of Toronto and, upon arrival, we will transfer to our wonderful hotel within the heart of the city. In the evening, our esteemed Wine Guide Andrew Jefford will host an introductory wine tasting and the group will sit down to a special welcome dinner together.

Day 2 Our day begins with an opulent sampling hosted by winemaker Norman Hardy. Later, we will be joined for lunch by a winemaker from Karlo Estates, where the best of Old and New World winemaking comes together to produce well-crafted wines of distinction. Our afternoon will be spent at leisure so we can further explore this cosmopolitan city, and our free time continues on into the evening. Gastronomy, rich culture and wonderful sights abound here.

Day 3 This morning we head towards Niagara-on-the-Lake. This is a world-class wine destination that is also home to a renowned community of wineries where each is as distinctive as the wine it produces. On the way, we will sit down to a relaxed vineyard lunch to absorb the local flavour and later, we have a delicious dinner in similar surroundings before checking into our hotel.

Day 4 We begin today at the biodynamic Tawse Vineyard, a four-time winner of Canada’s coveted Winery of the Year title and sprawled on the lower slopes of the Niagara Escarpment.

After, we are treated to a rustic vineyard lunch and we will then savour incredible wines at a tasting with stunning views of Niagara Falls. There will be free time to voyage out by boat later in the afternoon.

Day 5 Domaine Queylus, a winery whose strong terroir contributes to its elegant varietals, is our first stop today. This winery utilises the region’s micro-climate and soil to produce fantastic Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Noir. Then, we tour an ice-wine vineyard and indulge in a food-pairing session with this sweet, unctuous nectar. Free time in the afternoon will be followed by dinner and a tasting of wines from the Lake Erie wine region, hosted by our very own Wine Guide.

Day 6 The elegant, family-owned Westcott Winery opens its doors to us this morning and here we learn about its hand-crafted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sparkling wines. From here, we

Day 1 We arrive into beautiful Bordeaux today and following an afternoon welcome, we head to the Max Bordeaux Wine Gallery & Cellar for a private tour. Here, we sample excellent wines and our guide enlightens us about its quirks.

Afterwards, there is the chance to taste some of the many wines in the Enomatic machines. Our evening will be spent at leisure.

Day 2 Our day begins at the Second Growth Château Gruaud Larose, where we discover its history, which dates back to 1725, along with the world-class wines produced here. Lunch will be an indulgent affair as we sit down to a special wine-flight menu at the fantastic restaurant, Le Saint-Julien. We end our touring at the phenomenal Château Pichon Longueville Baron, possibly the most famous building in the region and often touted as a quintessential fairytale castle. Here, we explore the vineyards, discover the cellars and get to taste the fabulous vintages.

Tonight there’s more free time to walk around this enchanting city, take in its sights and get a little closer to the rich culture.

Day 3 A visual treat awaits this morning at Château Cantemerle.

Set within verdant Médoc woodlands on the fringes of Bordeaux city, there are 94 hectares of immaculate vines that produce its amazing Fifth Growth wines. Our next stop is the charming 18th century Château Kirwan, which has belonged to the Schÿler family for 75 years. Beautiful lawns and gardens lined with flowers frame our sampling of this château’s excellent wines. The afternoon and evening are free.

Day 4 Before we make our way home this afternoon, we visit the Cité du Vin Museum, which brings wine to life with its immersive, multi-sensory approach. Here, the cultural journey of wine is laid out across engaging exhibits and interactive experiences.

Few wine regions carry the tremendous prestige of quality and grandeur as highly as Bordeaux. Home to some of the most famous wines in history, join us in discovering this glorious wine region.

Itinerary Day 1 We are welcomed to Bordeaux with a delicious lunch and tasting at Comptoir Cuisine. Later, enjoy a decadent tasting at Château Haut-Brion, a First Growth producer, and then it’s onto Château Pichon-Longueville Baron for another tasting. We will also dine at this stunning château this evening.

Day 2 Today is another delicious foray into this region’s incredible wines. We visit Château Batailley, whose strong wines show classically strong character, before moving on to Château Léoville-Barton, in the commune of St. Julien. This is also the only château from the 1855 classification still owned by the original family.

Day 3 Château Gruaud Larose opens its doors to us this morning for a tasting. Next, we visit Château Cos Destournel, whose cellars are the most technically advanced in the region, and Château Calon Segur. Dinner is at Café Lavinal, favoured by locals and winemakers alike as a great place for a glass of authentic wine or hearty meal.

Day 4 Our visits today begin at Château Kirwan, which is surrounded by beautiful lawns and flower gardens. Then, we experience the superb wines at Château La Lagune, the most southerly of the Classed Growths of the Médoc.

Day 5 No property in France dominates its appellation in the way that Château D’Yquem dominates Sauternes. At 113 hectares, it is the biggest property in the AOC. Next, we visit Château Haut Bailly, regarded as one of the best red Graves properties.

After our visits have come to an end, we say our goodbyes and return home.

Day 1 Soon after our arrival into Melbourne, we will be treated to a delicious welcome lunch and tasting session before checking in and enjoying a little free time to settle in. In the evening, our Wine Guide introduces us to the region and showcases alternative varietals that Australia uses in winemaking.

Day 2 Our day begins at Yarra Yering, founded in 1969 and known for its concentrated blends. Shiraz, Merlot and elegant single variety Chardonnay are fantastic here. We move on to the state-of-the-art Oak Ridge Winery where we sample its wines.

After free time to explore the area, we return to our hotel.

Day 3 At the Mac Forbes winery, we indulge in wines that embody clarity and beauty, before visiting Giant Steps to sample single vineyard Pinot Noirs over lunch. We visit Healesville Sanctuary, before a meal at the renowned De Bortoli estate.

Day 4 The iconic Yeringberg is our first stop today and from here we pay a visit to Jamsheed. The brainchild of Gary Mills, it is an internationally lauded winery that produces creative, interesting representations of the southeast Australian terroir.

We will have dinner at Chateau Yering’s elegant restaurant.

Day 5 We begin at the forward-thinking Quealy Wines, which is known for making Methode Ancestrale sparkling and amphora-fermented wines. On to the quirky 10 Minutes By Tractor winery, one of the best known Mornington Peninsula producers. Its reds are made in small, open-topped fermenters with wild yeasts and then matured for 11-15 months in French oak. Ocean Eight is our final tour stop for the day and this family-run winery is not only award-winning, but fantastic.

Day 6 Today we visit the small but mighty Eldridge Estate of Red Hill.

Its wines epitomise an elegant Burgundian-style of Pinot Noir and we will be lucky enough to enjoy a tasting session here.

Our next visit is to Yabby Lake, where we also sit down to lunch with views over the property’s stunning vines. Later, there will be free time to take in our surroundings at leisure before a special dinner at one of the most awarded wineries in Australia - Paringa Estate. Rich Chardonnays and elegant Pinots await.

Day 9 We start at the Glaetzer-Dixon winery, where Nick Glaetzer was named Young Winemaker of the Year in 2011. Afterwards, we take a ferry to the Moorilla Winery, which is known for its excellent boutique wines. Before our touring ends and free time begins, there’s an optional visit to Sullivan’s Cove whisky distillery - a drink that Tasmania has a growing reputation for!

Day 10 Before we catch our return flight, we stop by the Pooley Estate for a tasting and also make time to visit Frogmore Creek, an organic winery where its owners ‘let fruit do the talking’.

Food The epicurean city of Melbourne is known for its thriving gastronomic scene.

We will sample some terrific cuisine both on and off the barbecue while in Australia, and the restaurants we eat at will range from properties that boast biodynamic, organic gardens to a multiple award-winning Victorian mansion-turned-hotel.

Day 4 We begin our final day with a brewery tour of Huisbrouwerij De Halve Maan, which is famous for having a beer pipe underground that transports beer to its out-of-town warehouse. From the street to the roof and back down again, this tour ends with beer straight from the pipe. We stop for lunch at the brewery and then return to the UK, where we say our goodbyes.

Your completed booking must be made with the appropriate deposit and the premiums for any insurance if required. If you choose to take our insurance we would ask that you read all sections of the policy document fully.

There is a 14-day cooling off period in which you can return the policy for a full refund if it does not meet your requirements. The person making the booking warrants that he/she has the authority of all other persons included in the holiday to make the booking on their behalf and confirms that everyone is fit enough to participate in the tour. Upon receipt of your booking we will reserve your holiday, if available, and send a confirmation/ invoice, which will advise you of the balance due. You must pay the balance in full ten weeks prior to departure unless otherwise stipulated.

Visa/Mastercard/Barclaycard/Switch/Delta/ Maestro/Visa Debit are accepted for deposits with no surcharge. Balance paid by credit card will be subject to a 2.5% administration charge. Balances may be paid by debit card, cheque or bank transfer without surcharge.

Once the group travel arrangements have been confirmed, we will be in touch. We will provide you with details on the tour guide/ wine expert, hotel details, flights and general country information. You will also receive your luggage labels and final itinerary detailing the sites you will visit on tour.

Joining instructions and a list of the guests who will be travelling with you will be sent out 4 weeks before departure.

If we change your holiday

For the vast majority of our tours, the programme will be exactly as described in the brochure. Occasionally we do make changes to the order or number of visits. We always try to tell guests in advance of any change.

Please note pick-up points are subject to minimum numbers and will be confirmed when we send out joining instructions.

If you change your holiday

If, after we have accepted your booking, you wish to change details of that booking, we will make every effort to satisfy your requirements, although this cannot be guaranteed. When a request has been met, an amendment fee of £50 per person will be charged and a revised invoice will be issued.

Insurance

We strongly recommend that travellers are covered by comprehensive travel insurance and do not travel against medical advice.

You should organise your insurance when you book to ensure you have cover against possible cancellation charges, medical treatment and repatriation. We will need to know the details of your policy 4 weeks before departure at the latest. Arblaster & Clarke are authorised to provide travel insurance and we are happy to discuss this when you book.

Deposits

For Champagne tours, £100 per person For tours costing up to £3000, £300 per person For tours costing £3000+, £500 , including 2018 cruise.

For 2019 Cruise, £1500

Cancellation by you

Cancellation charges payable to Arblaster & Clarke are calculated on time prior to departure as follows: Up to 70 days: Deposit* 69 - 41 days: 35% of tour cost 40 - 29 days: 55% of tour cost 28 - 8 days: 75% of tour cost 7 days to date of departure: 100% of tour cost.

If you are on a cruise, cancellation terms are: Up to 85 days: Deposit* 83 - 56 days: 75% of tour cost 55 - 41 days: 90% of tour cost 40 days or less to date of departure: 100% of tour cost. *plus any invoiced flight costs.

Cancellation by us

If we have to cancel your holiday before the date of departure, you will have the choice of taking an alternative holiday (and paying or receiving a refund/credit in respect of any price difference) or accepting a full refund of all monies paid.

Financial protection

Flight inclusive tours: we hold an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence issued by the CAA (ATOL No. 2543) which the ATOL Protection Contribution (APC) we pay to the CAA. This charge is included in our advertised prices.

When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists what is financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong.

Not all holiday or travel services offered and sold by us will be protected by the ATOL scheme as explained below.

Tours without flights arranged by us: The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT) provides financial protection under the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 for Arblaster & Clarke and in the event of their insolvency, protection is provided for the following: 1. non-flight packages commencing in and returning to the UK 2. non-flight packages commencing and returning to a country other than the UK 3. flight inclusive packages that commence outside of the UK, which are sold to customers outside of the UK 1, 2 and 3 provides for a refund in the event you have not yet travelled. 1 and 3 provides for repatriation. Please note that bookings made outside the UK are only protected

by ABTOT when purchased directly with Arblaster & Clarke.

Passports

A full passport is essential for travel to all destinations outside of the UK. All passports should have at least three months left to run from the date of return to the UK, although some countries require you to have up to eight months validity on your passport. It is the responsibility of travellers with nonEU passports to obtain the necessary visas, documentation etc. for all overseas holidays.

Complaints

In the unlikely event that you have a complaint, please inform your tour guide immediately so that action can be taken on the spot. If the matter cannot be resolved, complaints should be submitted in writing to us within 20 days of your return from holiday. We cannot accept liability for claims reaching our office more than 20 days after the conclusion of the holiday concerned.
