BIOLOGY OF STRESS & THE SCIENCE OF HOPE
Join us for a screening and discussion of Resilience, a one hour documentary that delves into the science of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the birth of a movement to treat and prevent toxic stress. Recognized to be one of the drivers for conditions as diverse as heart disease, cancer, substance abuse, and depression - extremely stressful experiences in childhood areunderstood to alter brain development and have lifelong impacts on health and behavior.

The Strategic Planning Team has been charged with leading the effort to create a five-year strategic plan that gives the church a roadmap for addressing these challenges and doing ministry in the 21st century. Strategic planning allows the church to evaluate and improve its ministries, and to operate with excellence. You are the central part of the strategic planning process! A number of factors, including evolving technology, declining religiosity among Black Americans, shifting demographics, and the COVID-19 pandemic has left churches, including St. Paul’s, with an immediate challenge of how to remain stable while becoming a more relevant religious entity that attracts, disciples, and serves communities in the 21st century.
