Failure is Not Final John 21:1-14 NRSV 1
After these things Jesus showed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias; and he showed himself in this way. 2Gathered there together were Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples. 3Simon Peter said to them, ‘I am going fishing.’ They said to him, ‘We will go with you.’ They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. 4Just after daybreak, Jesus stood on the beach; but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5Jesus said to them, ‘Children, you have no fish, have you?’ They answered him, ‘No.’ 6He said to them, ‘Cast the net to the right side of the boat, and you will find some.’ So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in because there were so many fish. 7That disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, ‘It is the Lord!’ When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on some clothes, for he was naked, and jumped into the lake. 8But the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, only about a hundred yards off. 9When they had gone ashore, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish on it, and bread. 10Jesus said to them, ‘Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.’ 11So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three of them; and though there were so many, the net was not torn. 12Jesus said to them, ‘Come and have breakfast.’ Now none of the disciples dared to ask him, ‘Who are you?’ because they knew it was the Lord. 13Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. 14This was now the third time that Jesus appeared to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

Kids Day
2021
It’s back! After a hiatus in 2020 due to COVID-19, the YMCA of Greater Brandywine will host three Healthy Kids Day® events on Saturday, April 24 from 10 AM – 1 PM. All are invited to attend! Healthy Kids Day®, the Y’s national initiative to improve families’ health and well-being, reminds every one of the importance of staying active. One in three children in the U.S. is obese, and when summertime hits, kids are often more idle. Research shows that without access to out-of-school physical and learning activities, kids fall behind academically and gain weight twice as fast.
Brandywine YMCA - 295 Hurley Road, Coatesville, PA | 10 AM – 1 PM Hosted by the Brandywine and Lionville Community YMCAs, Healthy Kids Day® activities will include Zumba & yoga classes and demonstrations, craft-making activities, Safety Around Water lessons (Bring your bathing suit! Advanced registration required—please call us at 610-444-9622) and healthy snacks.
Jennersville YMCA - 880 W Baltimore Pike, West Grove, PA | 10 AM – 1 PM Hosted by the Kennett Area and Jennersville YMCAs, Healthy Kids Day® activities will include soc-
cer matches, Zumba & yoga classes, fun fitness contests, Moon Bounce inflatables, and much more. MomPops will be giving away lots of their delicious, healthy popsicles and we will have free Herr's snacks, too.
Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY) - 1416 Berwyn-Paoli Road, Berwyn, PA | 10 AM – 1 PM Hosted by the West Chester Area and Upper Main Line YMCAs, Healthy Kids Day® activities at UMLY will also celebrate Earth Day! Join us on our 54-acre campus for visits to our Nature Center and Barnyard, hikes through the Cassatt Preserve, a seed planting station, inflatable obstacle
course, hula hooping, family Zumba, dance performances, scavenger hunts, tours of our summer camp site, and more! Please bring a non-perishable food item to donate for those who are in need. 9

NEW CDC RECOMMENDATION TO DOUBLE MASK CDC recommends that people wear masks in public setting, at events and gatherings, and anywhere they will be around other people. Effective February 2, 2021, masks are required on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States and in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations. Researchers further determined that when a person wears two masks properly, and the people around them do the same, the risk of transmitting infectious aerosols can be reduced by as much as 95%. The other method the CDC found that "substantially improved source control and reduced wearer exposure to the virus was knotting the ear loops of a single surgical mask and then tucking in and flattening the extra material close to the face.”
Last month, Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of the country's top infectious disease specialists, said that double-masking being more effective "just makes common sense." In addition to wearing proper face coverings, the CDC findings affirm that physical distancing, avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated indoor spaces, and good hand hygiene remains critically important as well. According to experiments performed by the CDC, a three-ply surgical mask blocked 42% of particles from a simulated cough, and a three-ply cloth mask blocked 44 percent%. Yet, when used in unison (surgical mask and cloth mask), 92% of particles were blocked.

Affirmation of St. Paul’s Baptist Church Building Closure As an outcome of the Covid-19 pandemic, and an abundance of caution in supporting the safety of St. Paul’s members and visitors, our leadership appropriately determined it was critical to cease services and activities at St. Paul’s.
Thankful for the blessing of technology and St. Paul’s Technology Team, we have been able to effectively stay connected as one body in Christ via zoom and most recently live streaming.
The Relaunch Taskforce’s mission is to protect the safety and welfare of St. Paul’s Church family and community against the spread of Covid-19. In alignment with the Centers for Disease Control, State of Pennsylvania and county guidelines the church building has remained closed. As guidelines have continued to be updated, requests have been made for events to take place at St. Paul’s. To ensure your safety, the building and property will remain closed to all activity and events with the exception of work required for live streaming. This can be safely managed by following a strict schedule of tracking and monitoring of a limited number of individuals in the church. This monitoring includes temperature checks, screening for symptoms of Covid-19, social distancing, use of personal protective equipment and disinfecting protocols.
Although our church facility remains closed, the Relaunch Team is working diligently in planning for the day when it will be safe for us to physically join together and fellowship at St. Paul’s. St. Paul’s Baptist Church Relaunch Taskforce Dr. Lisa Croft - Chair

ST. PAUL’S BAPTIST CHURCH RE-OPENING UPDATE MISSION: Protect the safety and welfare of the St. Paul’s family and members of the community against the resurgence of Covid 19. GOALS: To ensure the safety and well- being of Congregants and members of the community, the St. Paul’s Relaunch Team recommends following scientific data using the following metrics to increase the probability of a sustained re-opening: CDC guidelines regarding congregant gathering, including wearing face masks, frequent hand washing and social distancing. Consistent trend in decreases of cases, hospitalizations and deaths based on national, state and local data. Equipment and personnel are available at the church to meet Covid 19 safety guidelines. We encourage and hope that everyone will get the vaccine when available, although, it will not be required to enter the church. We will keep members apprised of pertinent, accurate information via email blasts, public service announcements and St. Paul’s Relaunch web site regarding Covid 19 and its impact on re- opening St. Paul’s. At this time, there is no projected date or concrete measures to be used for our re-opening. We are still following unstable data and once the data stabilizes more definitive information will be shared. We are taking every precaution to protect the health, safety, and welfare of our congregation and members of the community.

CDC Guidelines for Fully Vaccinated People The CDC has stated, “People who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 can now spend time together indoors and unmasked.” The CDC considers Americans “fully vaccinated” once two weeks have passed since they received the final dose of their vaccine regimen. In the case of vaccines developed by Moderna and the Pfizer-BioNTech partnership, which have been authorized for emergency use since December, that means the second of two shots. For the recently authorized Johnson & Johnson vaccine, it means two weeks after a single injection. Fully vaccinated people can: Visit with other fully vaccinated people indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing Visit with unvaccinated people from a single household who are at low risk for severe COVID-19 disease indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing Refrain from quarantine and testing following a known exposure if asymptomatic
For now, fully vaccinated people should continue to:
Take precautions in public like wearing a well-fitted mask and physical distancing Wear masks, practice physical distancing, and adhere to other prevention measures when visiting with unvaccinated people who are at increased risk for severe COVID-19 disease or who have an unvaccinated household member who is at increased risk for severe COVID-19 disease Wear masks, maintain physical distance, and practice other prevention measures when visiting with unvaccinated people from multiple households Avoid medium- and large-sized in-person gatherings Get tested if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms Follow guidance issued by individual employers Follow CDC and health department travel requirements and recommendation
Public health officials have been largely cautious about recommending that people return to relative normalcy even after being vaccinated. Some of their hesitancy has stemmed from fears of “vaccine euphoria,” in which the public abandons Covid-19 mitigation strategies in the wake of good news about vaccine distribution.
