Biking through Toronto’s parks, graphic designer Jason Logan picks raw materials like sumac, black ­walnut and turmeric that he distills into his ethical, non-toxic inks. TIFF BELL LIGHTBOX I’m a total movie freak, and this is one of the only places in the city where you can go to see old ­movies.

Once, they showed Grace Kelly’s films and held a panel to talk about her style, which is where I learned Alfred Hitchcock wanted Kelly dressed in “sugar-spun shades.” The expression stayed stuck in my head. I just think it’s so romantic.  Je suis maniaque de cinéma, et c’est à peu près le seul endroit en ville où l’on peut voir de vieux films. Une fois, on y a présenté les films de Grace Kelly et organisé une discussion sur son style, où j’ai appris qu’Hitchcock voulait qu’elle porte des teintes « barbe à papa ». Ça m’est resté en tête. HERMÈS I adore it when women wear French-style scarves – the big ones. I just think it’s the classiest thing in the universe, and Hermès makes beautiful scarves. My ­girlfriend, Helen, has a Scandinavian, ­monochromatic style for the most part, but I gave her a few of these.  J’adore qu’une femme porte un grand foulard à la française.
