Mario Arlati. Life Color In Milan, to January 23, the exhibition “Potenza del colore” shows how Mario Arlati (Milan 1947) paintings are in an artistic dialog with ancient works of the last five hundred years. A project, at Banca Generali Private Banking, combines works from the Giorgio Baratti collection, antiquarian of international level, with the production of the last decade of Arlati through the experience and expertise of one of the most important art merchants Stefano Contini, from homonym gallery. The halls of Piazza S. Alessandro open to a new artistic research that Banca Generali, in the figures of the Ceo Piermario Motta and the general co-director Gian Maria Mossa, draws the attention to the national cultural environment, allowing to develop new ideas and approaches between the contemporary and the past of art. From figurative, more than forty years ago, the Master finds its artistic dimension in an informal pasty. A scratchy that materiality in different colors each of us carries in galaxies sound. The color becomes a common language in this Milan exposition, because it confronts and assimilates through works by artists such as Carlo Cignani, Guido Reni, Antoine Van Dyck, Marco Ricci, Luca Forte and others. The Arlati gestural expressiveness announces the drawing, while simple geometries formless self-reinforcing in the certainty of the act. The pictorial symbol that combines the Mario Arlati credo with the history of art is the work of Cignani, “Giuseppe e la moglie di Putifarre”, where the red cloak in the lower right diagonal to the black in the upper left, in two opposite perspective, summarize the whole color evolution and material to our contemporary world, that the Master has made his own in a unique composition.
